Hey folks,

just wanna know which programms you're using to encode videos to most exactly fit the (uncommon) QVGA screen resolution of the Omnia?

I for myself took (after an advice from another board) the "Super" converter (where you can choose almost every movie type, also for example "*.avi for pocket pc"), but it has no QVGA (if not QVGA, then at least the 240x400 mode Omnia is using) resolution option.

So what would you advise in that case?

Phone: i900XXHJ1

thanks a lot for now! Smiley

"coreplayer" for on the omnia you mean?

won't these settings in "super" squeeze or deform the video (or will it cut the video in worst case in a way, that it removes sections of the video)?

is it possible for example movies in 16:9 make to match the omnia full screen without deforming the video with these settings?

don't deform..keep aspect ratio
coreplayer is the best player for wm
to work very fine in omnia you must set in preferences "intel xscale"
you can also choose to adapt video at screen (16:9) without vertical band

don't deform..keep aspect ratio

--> that means: "(Super) won't deform" or did you mean: "you will have to keep the aspec ratio!"?

if "keep aspect ratio in "super"":
I thought you have to select or to enter 400*240 manually (like your screenshot shows it) in "super" to fit Omnia's screen (which will change the aspect ratio certainly if it was 4:3 before or do I have an error in reasoning)? *confused*

Example:

Original Video: 640*480 (4:3)
Omnia: 400*240 (16:9)

--> so it has to be cut/deformed to match the screen, hasn't it?

coreplayer is the best player for wm
to work very fine in omnia you must set in preferences "intel xscale"
you can also choose to adapt video at screen (16:9) without vertical band

That all refers to setting up the "Coreplayer" or the "Super" converter (if last one: how to)?

Sorry for asking again, but I'm for the moment not able to follow you completely...  Huh? Embarrassed

I was using VirtualDubMod but giving MediaCoder a go  Cheesy

As for the Omnia same as my WM5 XDA, WMP and host player really bad for video you definatley need Coreplayer (not the Omnia's fault just poor software from Samsung and Microsoft).

Dont get me started on supposed DivX certified device yet couldnt play DivX LOL!

did you enable power saving mode? this reduces system performance.
my videos are not choppy! also original 700mb files mostly work.

Had a quick check and yes its disabled Sad

Must admit it I was a little dissapointed it couldnt play Divx properly out of the box, but it was the same on my XDA running WM5, with which I had to use TCPMP.

Im on lastest rom with vodafone UK.

I'm using this: Xilisoft DVD Ripper Ultimate 5
Its great, you can rip your DVDs to 400x240 without problem! you can manage the size that you want your video.
Its just that it is only for DVD ripping, if anybody know some that can do the same from avi, mpeg, or some other video file please tell us.
