Hello,

I can't connect my Omnia II i8000 with my laptop via Bluetooth. Here's a detailed explanation of how I try to set it up:

METHOD 1:
- enable BT on both phone and laptop and enable visibility
- check that smart pairing is enabled and that search for all devices is enabled on the phone
- on the phone's BT settings screen (with the blue circle on) I click "search" and my laptop's name appears as an icon. I drag and drop the icon onto the blue circle to connect. I enter passcode 1234 and hit "done". After a minute my phone says: "your device did not connect with "laptop". the connection failed or the passcode is incorrect". Tried different passcodes but with same error. Without passcode phone says "input passcode".

METHOD 2:
- On the phone's BT settings screen with the blue circle, clicked on "menu - MS settings".
- On the devices tab clicked on "connected - add new device" then "refresh" after which my laptop's name appears in the list.
- selected the laptop and clicked next after which I had to enter passcode and clicked next.
- after a minute I get same error message as above. Tried another code 0000. Then my laptop asks to enter code. I enter 0000. laptop and phone say it's connected. Hooray! pff
- Now in the phone's MS bluetooth settings screen it shows my laptop but it appears under the heading "DISconnected" !!?
- ON the COM ports tab in my phone I hit "new outgoing port" but under select device you want to add I don't see my laptop!
- when I click my laptop the partnership settings open. But I cannot select any services to use from this device, not even after hitting refresh.

METHOD 3:
Tried to establish connection starting from my laptop. No success.

WTF is this with samsung smartphones?? I had this with my omnia i900 too with no success. Before that I had a 50 EUR sony ericsson and it connected without problems. Nothing but problems and waste of time on this samsung.

thanks in advance for the help.

delete all bluetooth on the phone...clear any pairings with phone from the comp...change the passcode on the comp bluetooth...then turn on recognition and seek it with the phone...   do the last step after restarting both units...  might just be a glitch that the resetting helps...   all i did was turnon mu laptop recognition...searched with my phone, dragged n dropped...put in code and connected i was...  im using a 4 yr old dell 1505 ...

Holy macaroni, I finally figured out how to connect my phone to laptop via BT and sync it Cheesy
I'll write instructions hoping that it will help others that face similar problems:

- Deleted all bluetooth devices on both phone and laptop and restarted both.
- Enable bluetooth and visibility on both
- Laptop: add device... searching... Omnia i8000 appeared in the list, highlighted it and hit next.
- entered a random passcode on the laptop, after which the phone asks if I want to connect, hit YES and enter same passcode on the phone.
- got message on both laptop and phone that they connected.
- Laptop: on the com ports tab, I hit ADD (incoming port - device initiates connection) and COM5 appeared in the list
- Started MS activesync: File - connection settings, enabled checkbox "allow connections to one of following:" and selected COM5 from the pull down menu.
- Now a strange or tricky part: on the phone, went to the BT setting page with the blue circle in the center and the blue circle of my laptop below it. Hit the laptop's circle after which partnership settings appears with the line "select services to use from this device"
- hit refresh button but nothing appears. hit done. going to try another way.
- again, on the BT settings page with the blue circle icons, hit "menu - ms settings" and on the devices tab, selected my laptop's name which appears just below "disconnected", MS partnership settings window opens.
- hit refresh at the bottom. halleluia, a checkbox named activesync appears as a service. Checked it to enable and hit save.
- on the phone started activesync program and hit menu - connect via bluetooth. a message appears that port is opening blablabla and activesync starts synchronisation.

I can send files from laptop to phone too via bluetooth regardless of phone's visibility turned on or off (right mouse button, send to - bluetooth device). But I cannot beam files from phone to laptop, even with visibility on both devices turned on. Any idea why I can't beam from phone to laptop?

Mine won't connect to my Jawbone Noise Assassin either.  But then, I think the Omnia II is the worst phone I've ever had the displeasure of owning in my life.  It locks up constantly, it's horribly slow and disconnects people all the time, I constantly have to turn it off and on or remove the battery, the battery life sucks, the phone is a piece of garbage.  I hate it.  I'm going to Verizon tomorrow to beg for a replacement or maybe try to buy the Droid - i don't even care if i have to pay full price for it, that is how much I hate this Omnia II.  I try pairing it with my Jawbone and it can't even find it, but i'm really not too shocked.  It's just another reason this phone stinks. my jawbone paired first try...     must be a 920 issue.....sounds like most issues youre having are ones that have been addressed and have fairly easy fixes for here in the forum....  sadly it is not as much a samsung problem with the 920 as its a verizon problem...their cust svc knows 0 about the phone and i dont think anyone in the company has been trained on it...   but ive seen that with their own voicemail on the droid....  here in fl the cust service people just tell people to download youmail because they dont know how to set up verizons.....  id say 85/ 15 verizon problem...

good luck with your droid or whichever phone you choose....  hope it works better for you...

I use a Blutooth dongle on my PC. I have a Bluetooth icon next to my clock on the taskbar. I right click Bluetooth icon and select RECEIVE FILES before I initiate a SEND command from my cell phone. Works everytime!

I'm having a similar issue - My Omnia i8000 will just simply not find other devices.

OKay, ill try to break down what Im doing.

I Activate bluetooth just fine, It's showing in the center of the screen,
I have it set to search for All Devices
I have "Enable visibility to other devices" turned on
I have smart pairing enables "tried with and without"

That's as far as I know all I need. When I search for new devices, nothing is found. I'm attempting specifically a bluetooth headset, I cant recall the exact make/Model however I get it set to pairing mode and my phone still cant find it.

Any suggestions for more info needed?
