Hi. My Omnia II goes into Emergency Mode, most annoyingly when I try to send a text message. It then tells me to "try later".  Only on rare occasions do I find a link on the Start page that lets me exit the mode. Is there a specific method that works every time? Thanks!  Smiley

well im assuming you have a i920... if so  most fixes consist of one of 2 things....   back up your phone and try a proper hard reset(its in our how what where section)   if that doesnt solve the problem you will need to probably take it back to the store and do a warranty exchange.

Thanks. Thing is, it is inconsistent. Sometimes I get an icon to click in order to turn it off, sometimes I don't. Frustrating.

i used the wireless manager to turn off the "phone" and turn it back on again. to do this, go to menu, settings, all settings, connections tab, wireless manager. You will see wifi, blutooth, and phone buttons. press the phone bar, and it will turn off, press it again to turn it on.

this will work every time.

I duplicated the problem by making a call to a number on my emergency call list. i was then again not able to send an mms message due to being in emergency mode. when i followed the above procedure, i was able to send mms messages again.

it's pretty bad when a call to tech support at samsung and bell twice would not resolve this issue, but what can you do. i'm now going to get myself a cookie.

---thanks kawgirlval69. yes, this was for an omnia i910, thanks for pointing that out.

thanks for the reply pho  but the problem was with a 920  not a 8000...  the 920 being cdma operates a bit differently therefore that doesnt quite work for the 920.  its just a radio issue with the phone..... but thank you for your imput anyhow!!!!!

Pho...Thanks for the suggestion, which I will try on my i920. I was a bit confused by the exchange with kawgirlval69 re an 8000 and i910. Wasn't your suggestion for an i920? (I'd like to give you both a cookie, but as I understand the guidelines to be, I can't until I have made 15 posts.)

While I've got you, perhaps you know the solutions for two other problems:

(1) I thought I had set the # of rings high enough, but often I only hear two rings and then the person hangs up. Later, when I ask the caller how many rings he/she heard when they called, they tell me 4, or 5 or 6.   BTW, I like to have it vibrate AND ring. Perhaps I should stop the vibrate function.

(2) I find those reply options (i.e., "Busy. Will call you later") annoying because of what happens in (1) above...i.e., not enough time to select one of the texts and send it before the person hangs up.  Is there a way for me to create a reply in my own words and make it the default reply?

no as he said bell  reps  and bell is a gsm carrier...  8000 phone  not a 920 like yours...

as for your other questions...  the # of rings is setup thru ypour carrier settings thru voicemail......

the reply options are annoying....  i would either disable them or look at a 3rd party app to control that...
