Thanks ultrabuzz, I don't know where I got the idea that Bell doesn't support. I have a data plan but not unlimited. Maybe I will try it out.

I had removed the Orientation program from my i8000 Omnia II after hung twice in the past 4 hours while my phone was sitting idle.

Hopefully it works fine now. If not I will uninstall skype and see how my phone operates. If it still hangs then I will take it and have Samsung look at it.  Besides that the phone is in excellent condition.

I uninstalled the screen orientation program 4 days ago. I have not had any issues since.

I think you have to be careful with the orientation program. If you end up rotating it casually the program could bog down and eventually hang your device as it tries to keep up. I've only got it working on a couple of programs and not the main pages.

AlienKing : Installing SPB mobile shell 3.5 has a soft reset option you can place on the screen in the for of a widget if you like.

I used soft reset on the SPB Mobile shell 3.5.  My phone is password protected.  When it was reset my password, for some reason isn't recognised.  So at this point in time I cannot access my phone.

That's hardly related to mobile shell soft reset tool.
There have been several cases of devices "losing" the set password (not only on the O2, and many without even mobile shell installed)...
I don't know what the cause could be, I've never investigated much on this topic for I never use the password lock (exactly to avoid this kind of possible issue), but maybe if you google around a bit you could find out if someone figured out the reason and a solution for it  Wink

Good luck!

Who is your provider? I know bell.ca has a blurb on unlocking your phone and it's talking about if your unlock password stops working and gives a master code.

I decided to do a hard reset.  My contacts were backed up on outlook and files were in tact. I just need to reinstall some software which I have already.  Wink

If anyone is still interested to assign a hard-key for Soft-Reset, extract the attachment and put it into your device's \Windows\Start Menu\Programs (its very small) or wherever you like and create a shortcut there.

After that, you can assign it to one of the Hard-Keys.

I found it in my i900 (don't know how it gets there  Huh? ), but it worked for the i8000. I've tried it and created an invisible shortcut on its PointUI home screen.

Please note it will not prompt for a confirmation. Your device will just restart immediately after pushing the button.

It'll be safer to assign it to one of the "Press and Hold"  Wink

"Also don't install any from warez sites because eventually you'll get something malicious on your phone which will cause slow running and freezes. "

Could someone please explain what "warez" is and where it's found so that I can make sure I'm not using it by mistake?  I've seen references to it before but I really don't know what it is?
thanks

Warez means commercial software that has been pirated and made available to the public. Typically, the pirates has figured out a way to remove or generate a registration code used by the software.

Read more about it HERE.
