16. How to scroll left/Right/up and down when messaging  by Avalon

when you're typing a message or notes...
see at the middle bottom of your screen, there's the XT9 symbol with a white triangle.
if you click at the white triangle, you can choose different types of "keyboards"

If you choose the option "keyboard", you can find directional arrows which can be used to move your cursor left, right, up, down...

17. Threaded SMS  Thanks mike-biker

The way is as follows:
Go to registry HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\MSgTypes\IPM\
You must change - retype all dll from mms.dll, (in one case EmForm.dll) to htmlnote.dll
Next step is install application MoDaCo.OmniaTHREAD.CAB. Then restart and enjoy!

http://www.modaco.com/content/i8000-omnia-ii-http-i8000-modaco-com/291876/sms-threaded-email-solutionn-for-omnia-2/

EDIT: There are some small bugs, I think. 1st - i can`t go to landscape mode in writing, and the 2nd - after modyfiing the registry, is impossible to send MMS.

NEW and the BEST!!!
1) Switch off SAMSUNG Thread
Go to registry:
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\MsgTypes\IPM\SMStext\DLL\
change "mms.dll" to " htmlnote.dll "

2) Threading SMS for Inbox! (As in all PDA with WM 6.1)

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings\OEM\SMSInboxThreadingDisabled
change the value "1" to value "0".

Now you have typical Threaded SMS, without MMS disabling!

All is tested and OK.

Added useful info by kawgirlval69

heya dd ...  ive done some testing and checking and my settings are correct as posted everywhere and mms does not work from sms like described or like the unthreaded does.  mms does work though if you create the message from a file and choose to send it mms.  if you try it from a sms msg the insert tab is non functional.  might want to add  that to the post.  i am working on finding the fix for it though......

thanks  valerie Wink

20. Customizing icons for Samsung main menu

New programs installed always appear in smaller icons with a common white backing. To change to one larger icons similar to that of Samsung, you will need at least one image file of size 128 x 128 and add a few entries to the registry.

Here's the step to add you own customized icon

1) Navigate to the folder where the program reside, jot down the full filename. For instance, the default windows inbox, "tmail.exe".

2) Prepare an image file with the background set to transparent. Copy the file to your device.

3) To add a new icon, edit the following registry entry and increment the stated number in Decimal by one
[HKLM\Software\Cube\MenuSpecialItemCount]
e.g. Since my last count is 65, i entered 66 here.

4) Navigate to the following registry key and add a new value of REG_SZ type[HKLM\Software\Cube\MenuSpecialItems\]
Value Name: 65 (Input the original value in step 3)
Value Data: tmail.exe (the actual filename that you wish to customize)

5) Add a new value of REG_SZ in the either of the following registry key, 3D refers to the green menu while 2D refers to the red variant.

[HKLM\Software\Cube\MenuSpecialItemImages3D]
Value Name: 65 (Same value as in step 4)
Value Data: @menuimage-\Windows\gmail.png

[HKLM\Software\Cube\MenuSpecialItemImages2D]
Value Name: 65 (Same value as in step 4)
Value Data: @menuimage-\Windows\gmail.png

6) Finally, save the changes and restart the main menu =D

27. Test functions

To access the test functions, you can enter *#0*# on the dial pad or launch the file /windows/LCDTest.exe; the digital compass can be launched from /windows/CompassTestMode.exe (Thus, you can potentially create shortcut icons to these applications)

28. Use Data Connection from your phone to access internet with your laptop/PC

1) You'll need to put the USB Connection in Activesyn mode and tick the Enable Advance Network Functionality. There is also a standard steps you MUST follow:
a-1) Make sure that your USB connection is set to activesyn with advance network enabled a-2) Make sure that you disable your auto disconnection in your data connection setting.
 a) Connect the device to the PC using the USB cable.
 b) Get connected to the activesyn/Windows Mobile Device Center first.
 c) Start ICS.
 d) Press connect
2) You might be getting disconnected intermittenly when connected through ICS. This is due to the Data Connection settings you've done. If you've set that the data connection will be automatically disconnected after X mins, basically, as long as there are no packets, it will be disconnected.
3) When connected through ICS, if there are any call/sms/mms coming in, your connection will be lost. This will only happen if you use GPRS connection. You WON'T get disconnected if you use 3G connection

30. Use the internet connection from laptop/PC on your ppc

You need to get the phone to be connected to the computer through Active Sync and you need to go to setting->general setting->usb connection and enable the "enable advanced network functionality" option.
