18. Remove the Samsung skin from Outlook Mobile and go back to the default Microsoft UI By CaptnOz

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\MsgTypes\IPM\Note\DLL
change the value from emform.dll to htmlnote.dll

This didn't seem to make any difference for me.

I noticed that the default value was 'EmForm.dll' so I also tried changing it to 'HtmlNote.dll' in case it's case-sensitive, but again no difference.

But I don't even know if my device is using Outlook Mobile. There isn't an icon for Outlook Mobile. Presumably the default email client (launched by the 'Email' icon) is a skinned Outlook Mobile ?

Have a look at 17 it has more detail.

48.  Disable Message Sent Notification

Go To: HKLM > Software > Microsoft > Inbox > Settings
Change: MMSNoSentMsg name to SMSNoSentMsg
Change: SMSNoSentMsg value to 1
 Soft Reset

Registry Editor is needed to  do this.

This does NOT work on Omnia II which came with WM6.5. I've checked, the mentioned values are already in the original registry, but the sent notification is still active. It's really getting on my nerves. It's just plain ANNOYING to get the sent notification. Wonder if it's a Microsoft feature or a Samsung feature. Whoever thought of that is really plain RETARDED and obviously has never SMS before..

Has anyone figured out a way to either turn it off or allow setting of another sound for those i8000 with the new WM6.5 firmware ? thanx..

What you tried works only if you disable the SMS samsung application first.

Here http://www.modaco.com/content/i8000-omnia-ii-http-i8000-modaco-com/294591/omnia-2-tweaks-flash-guide-suggested-programs-faq/
you'll find also a tweak on how to Remove SMS sent notification without disabling the Samsung skinned SMS application (but some user reported it not working, while it's working for others... so it may depends on which ROM you have)

hi, yeah, I referred to that link and tried disabling the sent notification without turning off the skin, it DOES NOT work..  already called up Samsung Mobile to complain about this ANNOYING "feature". Obviously some moron in Samsung Mobile HQ thinks this is a very nice feature and decided that they are not going to allow user to disable it. What a bunch of idiots..

has someone found a way to disable this  ANNOYING "feature" for those i8000 that has WM6.5 rom?

I really have to wonder, if this a Samsung Mobile "feature" or WM6.5 ? it's really just plain ANNOYING.. and WM6.5 is in fact more UNSTABLE than WM6.1.. DISAPPOINTING.. perhaps I should just try to load Android into the phone.. it may behave much better..

50.  Increase touchscreen response
Go to HKLM/ system/ GWE/ touch/ filter and set minimum tap time to 0

it does make a difference.  makes texting and emailing way easier.....

working in 6.5 and 6.1

sorry would have posted earlier but wanted to test on 6.5 and wanted to see test different settings before posting...

Err sorry for the noob question but is this the annoying message tone after you send a message ?

If so is this working now ? Coz I'm a bit scared to fool around with my phone's registry error.  Undecided

Ok I tried it and it worked. Actually what I want to get rid was this:

Quote
Disable Notification Sound

Go To: HKCU > Software > Microsoft > Inbox > MsgTypes > IPM > SMSText
Change: DLL Value to htmlnote.dll
Then: Soft reset.

Original DLL Value is mms.dll

The problem is that when I disabled the sound. Everytime I send a text message and of course the message will go to the "Sent Message" folder right? Well it used show the names who I sent it to. But after I disabled the Sent Notification Sound. All the message I sent after disabling the sound on the "Sent Folder" shows my number instead of the names who I sent the text message. So I switched it back.  Cry

Yeah I need to check the "Sent Message" for reference.

Edit
By the way guys sorry for the noob question again.

1.What is a Soft and Hard reset?
2.If I do a Hard/Soft Reset will that restore everything back to factory setting ? I mean I got my Phone on Hong Kong and they have to change the language from Chinese to English... If I do a Hard or Soft Reset will my phone end up on Chinese Version ?

It's my first time to use a Windows Mobile Phone. I never did have a PDA or Pocket PC or anything like that and my past phones was Nokia N70 and Nokia N95 8gb.

This DOES work, but this changes your SMS editor too. The mms.dll is the bad one.

Yup it does work no doubt about it. but like I said "after I disabled the Sent Notification Sound. All the message I sent after disabling the sound on the "Sent Folder" shows my number instead of the names who I sent the text"

If this just don't change the "Names to my Numbers" on the Sent Folder then I'll have no problem at all.  Cry

Well for the mms.dll I don't mind it at all. I just hope that there is another way to disable the Disable Sent Notification Sound

30. Use the internet connection from laptop/PC on your ppc

You need to get the phone to be connected to the computer through Active Sync and you need to go to setting->general setting->usb connection and enable the "enable advanced network functionality" option.

My Phone is already configured with this settings but still I can't access the internet.

How can i use the internet of my Laptop for my phone?
What settings should I use in Advance Tab - Connection - "Browser Connection" and "Connections"?

Thanks
