When you put your sim in the phone and it asks you if you want it to load the settings, do it.  After they install, your phone will work but not fully.  Mms wont function correct, nor will gps or your internet.  Heres what you need to add to optimize your phone.

(I'm putting in at&t specs but change per your carrier)

settings/advanced settings/connection/connections/  click manage existing connections,
go to the bottom of screen and click edit,  bottom again and click next,  bottom again and click next,  heres the edit needed...
User name:  wap@cingulargprs.com
Password:  CINGULAR1
Domain:  leave blank
Click finish and you now are set up.

To optimize further, call your carrier and ask for tech. (level 2 tech is needed for this on at&t)  have tech "force" the imei in the system.  Trust me, highest tech can do this.  Once its in, your phone will now communicate with your system optimally.  You should notice faster download speeds, I know i did.  (I used to be top tier tech at at&t so i know a few tricks)

Hope this helps a few people out.  Any further questions feel free to msg me... Wink

i found some settings at xda for att. realllly makes pages load faster,im loving it now,,On the address bar, type in opera:config

Go 3/4th of the way down on the list and you'll find PROXY.

now on the fifth line you'll see HTTP server and you'll type in wireless.cingular.com:80

Go down a bit and you'll see USE HTTP. check that box.

Save. Exit and restart Opera.   also here is the thread i got it from  http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=627318    i forgot to mention i'm using these combined with Kawgirlval's settings Smiley

Hi ms first lady.  I just bought my samsung omnia i8000.  I am having problems with internet access.  I called AT&T and they could not help me because they said its unlock and originated from UK.  I tried following your instructions for MMS.  But i am stuck to where you said click manage existing connection.  I don't have this.  What I have are two subtitle.  My internet that has two choices, add a new modem connection and set up my proxy server.  Now the second subtitle is My Work Network that have choices of add a new modemconnection and add a new VPN server connectin and Set up my proxy server.  Hope you can help.

I have the Omnia II on AT&T and have the internet and MMS working fine.  Here's the specs if anyone needs them:

MMS:

MMS Profile: AT&T MMS
MMSC: http://mmsc.cingular.com

IP Address: 66.209.11.32
Port: 8080

Internet:

Name: MEdia Net
Modem: Cellular Line (GPRS)
Access Point Name: wap.cingular
Username: wap.cingulargprs.com
Password: Leave blank
Domain: Leave Blank
(Under the "Advanced" tab choose: "Use Server assigned IP Address")

Under PROXY SETTINGS:

check "this network connects to the internet
check network uses a proxy server to connect to the internet
Proxy server: wireless.cingular.com
(Advanced Tab: HTTP : wireless.cingular.com:80

Email me if you need any other settings or need to figure out how to access these areas.

Thank you very much for the settings.  fortunately the majority of the time the phone sets all of this up for you, but in the cases it doesnt, this  is great.

the actual purpose of this post was to make the phone work better as in to tweak it to make the data faster....there wasnt a problem getting it to work.....

Thank you again for all of the settings!!!!  Cheesy

Hi My gal I remember you and I trying to sort out my Omnia i900 as it wasn't able to do these things. Well the new baby the GT800t Icon is so sweet. I plugged in my 32 gig memory card added some files from my other phone and when I put in the sim card away it went. I can do emails, MMs video calls and all of that stuff. The only thing I still have to find out does the phone have a navigation system in it? the older omnai i used Igo8 in it and it was awsome GPS but silly me cant remember how to install it. so basically am asking you is there hidden in the bowls of the phone a nice GPS or do I have to install a third party one.
I await your or someone else s reply. Thanks again kind lady. Cheers for now, Phillip in "OZ"

You could try downloading a new cab from the website and seeing if your registration still works.

When you are already talking about MMS, is it possible to send videos? With the lowest resolution MMS button stays not active. Front camera maybe?
Tnx
