I'm trying it now..... I'm assuming it is uploading the MP3 although there is no "uploading" animation.

Yeah, I never got that mms....

Instead, download this free audio editor.

http://www.free-audio-editor.com/

If you have any audio proficiency whatsoever you can use this to edit and save your own ringtones in .wav format to you computer.  You can then convert it to MP3 with some other app, or plug the .wav (higher file size this way) right into your "my ringtones" folder on your omnia.

change your ringtone, and BLAMMO!  YOU'RE COOKING WITH PROPANE

Here is the step by step guide on how to use iMobileTool contacts Backup to manages windows mobile contacts on your computer. You can:
* View all contacts on computer
    * Add new contacts
    * Edit contact info
    * Set photo and ringtone for contacts
    * Switch contact between sim card and outlook

Contacts Manager is a free tool designed by iMobileTool to help you view and manage your windows mobile phone contacts on your computer easily. Below are some tips on how to use it:

View Contacts
Step 1. Use iMobileTool contacts Backup to backup your contacts from your mobile phone into a .cbf file. Please refer to How to backup contacts from windows mobile phone to computer.

Step 2. Transfer the contacts backup file(*.cbf) from your mobile phone to your computer by ActiveSync. Then run the 'iMobileTool Contacts Manager.exe'. Simply click 'File' -> 'Import'. See the following screenshot.

Step 3. Then you will see a popup windows. You simply select a contacts backup file and click 'open'.

Step 4. Now all contacts are imported into iMobileTool Contacts Manager. See the following screenshot.

Step 5. You can view your contacts in different view modes. For example, if you check 'Contact Card' box, the contacts will be displayed as the above mode; if you check “'Contact List' box, the contacts will be listed in the following way (see the following screenshot).

Edit contact info, set photo and ringtone for contacts

 * Double Click on the contact you want to edit, an edit screen will popup, see as follows:

 * Now,you can add or edit its detailed information, such as name info, company info etc. If you want to set a photo for this contact, simply click on the default photo, and then you will see:

Then you can select a photo on your computer and click 'Open' to confirm.

 * If you want to cancel photo setting for that contact, you can select the 'Delete photo' option from Menu (see the following screenshot).

 * In this edit screen, you can also set special ringtone for the contact. Simply select 'Browse' option from ringtone dropdown menu (see the following screenshot), and then select your wanted music file on your computer. It supports mp3, wma and wav formats files.

 * After finish editing, simply close the edit screen and the changes will be auto saved. If you don't want to save what you have edited, please use 'Exit without saving' from the Menu (See the following screenshot).

Switch contact between sim card and outlook

 * In the same edit windows, you can use 'switch contacts to sim card' and ' switch contacts to outlook' option from the Menu, which can help you switch contacts between sim card and outlook easily.

Add new contacts

 * You can use 'Add New Contact' option on ContactsManager to add a new contact easily.

Export contacts to .cbf backup File and restore to your phone

 * Click the 'Export' menu, then you can export the contacts to a .cbf backup file(*.cbf). This backup file can restore back to your window mobile phone.

1. Get a data cable, USB on the Computer end, Samsung on the other end.
2. Load activeSync.
3. Once the PC and Omnia are connected, click "Explore"
4. The normal place for ringtones is anywhere in the main MyDocuments folder, esp the MyRingtones.
5. IF YOU HAVE A STORAGE CARD, if you create a My Documents folder in the root of the storage card, the ringtones can be stored there as well, freeing up space in main memory. (I was really happy to find this out).

I have been able to hookup the I910 via USB, and open activesync, then go to Main Memory>Application Data>Sounds. I just dragged the Mp3, etc. into the sounds, and when I go to phone settings they are available in the drop down menu to use.

I tried the above storage card document file setup, but don't see them show in the phone drop down settings. Am I doing something wrong there?

Also is there an easy way to clear out some of the main memory without wiping out necessary files for phone function? Thanks.

Can you not put the ringtones in the root folder and then use Explorer to cut the file and move it to the required directory?

Hello..
I am also new for this mobile and I don't know about some specific features of the Samsung Omnia. I was looking for this topic for a long time because I want some ring tones from my computer and I don't know that how to do this? I think this will be helpful for me. I will try for this and if it will not work,I will discuss a problem with you. Thank you for sharing this with us.

just email the ringtone to yourself store them on the storage card and set the one you want as a ringtone or use activesync or just use the omnia to go online and download them directly to the device.

The best way to keep your main memory available is to not install there in the first place.

Many files that need to be in the My Documents directory (for instance, ringtones) can be in the My Documents folder in My Storage or on a Storage Card.

Last resort, try copying the files from main memory to one of the storage locations (My Storage or Storage Card), fix the shortcuts if any to point to the new location, and see if the program still works. Quite often it does.

To create a ringtone, I use Goldwave on my PC. If the actual MP3 doesn't work because of the vocals, perhaps a karoeke (hope I spelled that right) version of the song can be obtained that works better).

Memonry>Applications>Sounds may not be the right place.  You may be able to get away with putting it somewhere inside the My Documents structure (main memory, storage card or my storage) or it may need to specifically go into a My Ringtonse subdir there.

Hi

OK...

There are more ways to transfer tunes to the Omnia, thougt This way, as described by Administrator Samsung Omnia seems like the must complicated way to do that.

I prefer to hook up my Omnia as a Mass storage USB-device or removing the MicroSD card and insert it in a card reader, and then drag 'n' drop my tunes to the Omnia/card on my comp.

Still, for sharing your ringtones with friends I guess Administrator Samsung Omnias methode might be great.

But.. If I only want the chorus or a intro of a tune (I think Omnia will loop a ringtone)
Is there any MP3 cutter for WM6.1
