What do you mean by carrier locked? Is that when you are forced to use a particular carrier, i.e. Verizon?

yes carrier locked is when you can only use a certain carrier. say its a verizon and you want to use sprint service, this post shows you how to disable this feature.  saves you $$$ that you would spend at a cell tech shop like mine having it done for $30-$40...

If you have been unlucky enough to get an Omnia that is carrier locked, this is the way to unlock it for free!

This has been confirmed now and will be stickied! Please continue to brainstorm ideas for members who are having trouble!

1) Download attached ZIP file
2) Copy all three .lnk files to your Omnia
3) Open a registry editor and go to HKCU\System\State\PHONE, and write down the first 6 digits of IMSI entry (eg 505021 "Optus Australia"
4) Run Lock.ink
5) Enter the 6 digits you wrote down from above in the MCC/MNC section
6) As NCK, enter 12345678
7) Tap OK (it should tell that SIMLock enabled)
Cool Run Status.lnk to see if its locked
9) Run Unlock.lnk
10) Enter code entered in point 6 (12345678)
11) You're Unlocked!

Try this method too...

1. Type *7465625*638*# to set
2. Type the code from the registry as above into the MCC/MNC section
3. Type your new NCK (12345678), then OK
4. Type *#7465625# to check your lock
5. Type #7465625*638*# and type your NCK (12345678)

Would love some real time feedback on this guys...
Hi I don’t understand this at all but I bought a 16 gig Omnia i900 on eBay and it starts with Omnia software then goes to the windows page no carriers. Now the phone was supplied with an Australian power adapter so I assume it’s from overseas. Now my last phone I saw was originally on Vodophone and as soon as I put in my Telstra sim card in the phone turned it on it said words to the affect that a different providers sim card was in the phone did I want to install the setting for this card. I said yes then the phone worked on the web ok. Now this new phone doesn't say this, I went to help on the phone to Telstra and in the end they sent me an email to manually set the phone up. I can’t understand this. But is it possible my phone is locked to an overseas carrier? I can make calls etc but can’t access the web or even get the phone to work in wireless connection or connect to Bluetooth to my Navman. Any help would be gratefully accepted. Now I am 60 so plain straight forward help would be nice. Cheers.

Hey,

I've tried everything that everyone has posted, but nothin works! It's locked to T-mobile UK, and even the local phone shop spent a good half hour on it and said they couldn't unlock it, but they'd unlocked other omnia's before, but never a t-mobile one.

Is it possible to make my phone unlocked when on T-mobile?Huh?

The Biggest annoyance to Omnia users is that there is a number of phone the use the OMNIA name - unfortunately- a lot of folks are negligent to notify the type of PHONE they are referring to and the service provider as well- these two items are probably the most important piece of information for anyone to carry on an experiment on their particular phone- GOD DAMN!!!

Hello. You could try flashing to another ROM, I use DXIA5 from this link: http://www.samsung-omnia.org/rom-discussion/incorrect-version-!the-most-easiest-way!/
This ROM gives very good battery life, I tried the other in this link but it didn't seem to give the same battery life so I flashed back.
If your phone is still locked after flashing to this ROM then the above procedure should work as whatever T-Mobile added to there ROM to stop unlocking should have been removed.
Read lots of info about flashing and follow every step in the instructions whether you think it's necessary or not and all should go well.
PS it must be an i900 ROM for your i900 not an i910 ROM

I am read all of the post in this thread, I try to following the instruction to unlock my Omnia, but nothing happen to my phone.   Sad

I am just thinking that all instruction in this thread it's only available/working for Omnia I900 (GSM) and not working for Omnia I910 (CDMA).

Let me know if you can unlock this phone (Omnia I910). This phone is locked by Verizon.
