I am trying to increase the length of my ringtone. I found a posting to go to settings, phone, services, and call forwarding to increase the time, however, I do not have a call forwarding option. I have the call forwarding feature enabled at my service provider. Any suggestions? Registry hack perhaps?

I also have the same phone and rom version i910 and same problem. From what I have read so far the max before the call does to voice mail is 30 seconds. So I would like to extend the ring for that long or long if it can be done.

Well I did a search of this site and 2 others and I did not find a way to turn off the voicemail other than calling Verizon and having that service shut off. There's not to may clear answers with it comes to the i910 phone. Majority of the questions and answers are for the i900.....

@plintel - are you trying to extend the ringtone time before your call is forwarded? If so, I have written an article at careace (http://www.careace.net/2008/12/22/extend-the-ring-time-before-call-forwarding-tips/).

So basically Settings > Personal Tab > Phone > Services > Call Forwarding > Get Settings. You have a flexibility of 5 to 30 seconds under the forwarding option.

Hopefully its somewhat helpful! Smiley

Thank you for your reply! The instructions that you provided are very good (and your site also) but my trouble is I don't have the Call Forwarding tab top make those adjustments. I was hoping that there was a registry edit that I could use to allow the tab to appear so I can make the needed adjustments.

If there is no registry edit for the tab, is there an edit in the registry its self that I can make to max the ring time.

Thank you again for your help!

@Chapster.

I was poking around the registry and landed in this path (you should have this):

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\PhoneCallFwd

I haven't test it all out yet but you should see a few string value (0,1,2,3 - this may vary). As well as a DWORD value named "DelaySeconds". Now I have it as 30 which should indicate 30 seconds.

I've attached a screenshot below. Hopefully you can find it and modify it to your preference!

That was very good info! Your screen shot showed me that I did not have the DWORD value. With the info that you provided, I added the DWORD and soft booted. I now have a long ring time. Smiley

Thank you very much for your help. Maybe this can be added to the tips section for the i910 phones...
