^ thanks.

i discovered something that would save you a lot of ROM.  i just upgraded to the latest version of SPB Mobile Shell - 3.5.1 RC.

after installation, it freed up more than 4MB in my ROM.

i've attached the CAB installer below.  also, here's a link to the SPB forum:

Which version of SPB Mobile Shell did you upgrade from?

I see, thanks, my file is smaller, only 288b.

thanks for pointing that out. just posted a new one at 0 bytes, not sure we can get much smaller than that.

I'm sorry, but this instruction makes no sense to me.

I have an older ver of Kilmist RegEdit installed, but I don't see from your directions what that has to do with using the FileExplorere.  What am I missing?

Do you cut/copy/paste the app? How do you move it?  When I tried moving the Windows cache, all I got was an indexing error.

Meanwhile I cannot use the camera because it's complaining about not enough memory.  BTW, is there a way to get the Messaging app to store email in My Storage rather than main memory?  That's one of MS WM's dumbest ideas.

No Response? Do I have to read through 25 pages to find what the original instructions mean?

I have a year-old+ Omnia that's LOADED with aps and I don't see from these directions how to move them from the main device into the storage (the fixed card, not the removable one).

yanktar... you dont have to read through all 25 pages of posts to make sense out of the original instructions. you just have to read the original instructions properly.

you cannot move/copy/paste files with a RegEdit program.  the program to use - Total Commander - is a RegEdit and file exploring program.  the stock windows mobile file explorer does not allow you permission to overwrite system files, where as a third party program, such as Total Commander, does.

if i could offer you some advice though... i wouldnt waste your time worrying about the memory saving steps.  if your device is anything like mine was... packed full of programs, and low on memory, the only way to save it is to flash to a custom ROM.  you cannot save enough memory by following these steps alone.
