Hi everybody!
At first i'd like to apologize for my english, i' italian, and you can see i don't speak it very well!
I found this webforum by chance and i find it very complete, but i couldn't find an information i need before i decide to buy the samsung omnia.
I know that iphone's owners have to pay when they decide to use the navigation system, bercause it uses google maps and, of course, internet connection, and i'd like to know if for omnia it is the same thing.
Does it work like a common navigator (without paying) or like the iphone?
thank you averybody, and sorry if the question is already soewhere and i didn't see it  Smiley

No. Most Omnias will come with software like that installed by network providers but you can use other software that does not need data downloads. I have tested and am using following:
Garmin Mobile XT V5.0.20 (orientation sensor works with this)
iGo8 version Sep 1st or later ( you have to decide orientation before starting software)
CoPilot 7 (only works in portrait)
TomTom 7 for PDA works but it is useless for navigatin (my own experiance)

Hope this will help you decide.

most of the gps is not using internet...

but it`s only use the internet to update the satelites position...

you can just do the trick by syncing the device and turn off the updater inside the omnia... ^^
