Brodie, you're the man.  I really can't imagine why I didn't try that before.  Oh, that's right, the readme instructions say:
3)  Move this .zip file to your device and extract it into the root of your desired storage location
       (for example \Storage Card\).
       
       Better if the extraction is made directly on the device using the Pocker RAR application
       (download it from  http://www.rarlab.com/rar/pocketrar380.exe )
Thanks for your help.  It looks like I'll be wasting a few hours playing with this today!

No problem...I hope this helps more people because while searching other message boards it seems to be a pretty common problem.  Enjoy the new skins they are well worth it!
