Hi all, sorry for my angry mood, but I am trying to upgrade somehow my windows mobile 6.5 professional, to some of the upper versions 6.5.3 or 6.5.5. I wanted to download the ROM version from microsoft. I can't access the website. I wanted to download it from samsung sites, but almost impossible for me to find something normal and usable on that website. Sorry, but I am full of it. Can somebody make me a complete guide to how to take to the full end of my ROM update? please. help.  Cry

edit: The second problem, I can not connect my phone to the computer via Samsung PC Studio 7 and either Windows Mobile Device Center too. :S I have Windows 7 Ultimate x64

well if youre trying to do it official for warranty reasons   samsungs software is the only way other that sending it to them and letting them do it.    you can do it unofficially which there are detailed instructions for @ modaco....   the official way has been detailed here fairly well so im not sure of what youre needing...

as for the 64 bit prob   try here... http://www.modaco.com/content/i8000-omnia-ii-gsm-rom-discussion/306830/how-to-flash-your-omnia-2-under-win7-32-64bit/

Is there an official way to upgrade the Omnia II from 6.5 to 6.5.3  I don't believe it exist. If you ask Samsung Canada about an upgrade to 6.5.3 they don't have a clue.

for the non-official flash to 6.5.3 which I would love to do to make my baby smoother and faster and all the wonderful things in between, can I use any 6.5.3 rom?

My phone is I8000LUGIJ6
CE OS 5.2.21856 build

I am seeing on the internet there are Customized i8000 JD1/JD3/JE1/JE3/JH2/JI1

it depends on the region the phone comes from...   some even have 6.5.5....   but again  official is the region...  now that doesnt mean that rom is better, it just means they needed something fixed in that region and they put that version out...

Thanks for the reply. Given my phone details above are you aware of any 6.5.3 upgrade. I have a north american phone. What 6.5.3 rom do you recommend?

much appreciated.

edit:I don't care for samsung touch wiz. Need an english language rom with 3G intact on my gsm phone.

EDIT 2: I was successful in adding 6.5.3. on my I8000L Omnia ii.  Much improved efficiency.

Well too bad since the nearest Samsung Service Center is in Singapore..its quite far(across the border actually)..It will cost a lot to me(fares,passport,ect..)....My another problem is, i did not have the warranty card from samsung because my device is second-hand..
