http://ars.samsung.com/customer/usa/jsp/faqs/faqs_view_us.jsp?SITE_ID=22&PG_ID=2&PROD_SUB_ID=557&PROD_ID=561&AT_ID=226255 is the link. Have done this and am glad though it took an hour or two to reinstall all programs back on the phone. It was put up on the web Aug 9 2010, just last month.

thanks, urphone. But I think I'll pass. If I brick the phone doing something wrong, VZ won't help! Besides, I've found out that as long as I'm not too far from towers, the a-GPS works OK. At home, with the Samsung network extender, of course, the a-GPS is useless.

Had to hard reset my phone recently and now I CAN NOT complete the upgrade for it.  I was able to before, but now when I get to the step where my phone needs to restart, it now asks me to MANUALLY reset my phone.  It tells me to use the stylus to push the small button next to the OK button.  When I do this, the phone just turns off.  When I turn the phone back on nothing happens.  PLZ help.

Try resetting your phone this way:
"This is how ive found works best and there is a hitch at the end that im unsure if anyone notices but will cause the phone to function strange

DO the *2767*3855# and it freezes then goes off.  Heres where some may be doing things too fast.  The phone will reboot and go to the tap to calibrate screen.

                          Just LEAVE THE PHONE ALONE!!!!

The phone will reboot a second time.  This time you can calibrate and go to setting up the phone.  If you dont the phone will function like crap.  Very laggy, choppy and will crash alot!!  Take it from me  ive reset mine probably a hundred times...

same applies to the vol up, lock, send, end....  hold till triangle...select format...   this way just doesnt delete your my storage files....   not a complete reset...."
