Right, i been thinking for a while about this, i am going to try and link as many ROMs as i can....

MY KITCHEN>>> Fresh ROMs (quite often)  Tongue
http://www.samsung-omnia.org/shokka9%27s-kitchen/

1. ROMs from Secany - These are fairly standard ROMs from Samsung (or as Samsung intended)

Lots of ROMs in this thread from early one to the most recent, as well as different countries too. Very good read.

http://modaco.com/content/i900-omnia-rom-discussion/272126/secanys-rom-research-thread-new-dxhk3/

2. PaSSoA's ROM - he has 2 variations, a lite version which is stripped out and called LTE series. He also does the M2D versions with Manila2D pre-installed. Again, read the whole thread if you are interested.

http://modaco.com/content/i900-omnia-rom-discussion/274737/update-24-nov-08-custom-rom-manilla2d-with-alternate-landscape-dxhk1-m2d04/

3. Modaco's own ROM from Paul - Another stripped ROM, very fast and very stable.

http://modaco.com/content/i900-omnia-rom-discussion/274571/custom-rom-modaco-dthj9-mcr03-last-update-03-11-08/

4. Taril's ROM - Please read the link.

http://modaco.com/content/i900-omnia-rom-discussion/276476/samsung-i900-omnia-custom-rom-12-12-2008/

5. Lufieg's ROM - Please read the link. (I am currently using this).

http://modaco.com/content-page/277036/clean-dxhk3-rom-updated-dec-14-2008-lufeigs-lfi02/page/40/#entry946158

6. DrDots - Very fast, stripped out ROM. I liked this one alot.

http://modaco.com/content/i900-omnia-rom-discussion/275903/updated-16-11-dr-dot-1-0-soe-fixed/

7. xxxHolic's ROM - again very fast & stable and stripped out. Bit of personlisation with this and the ROM builds get updated quick often.

http://vitaln.com/ehalos/omnia/

8. ROMs from PDAVIET.net. There are many vesions, currently PV07 is latest. The website is in Vietnamese, but google can translate (not very well). The link is for a M2D PV06 version.

http://www.pdaviet.net/showthread.php?t=40635

9. Black Dragon ROMs, basically for the German user.

http://android.modaco.com/content/i900-omnia-rom-discussion/276810/omnia-black-dragon-lite-mod-wlan-fix-german/

10. Portugese ROM from zingaralho. Obviously for Portugese people generally. Based on i900DXHK3 phone and PDA i900XCHJ2 (last portugese one).

http://www.modaco.com/content/i9x0-omnia-rom-discussion/277332/i900ble01-portuguese-rom/

11. Links to soooo many ROMs, some old, some very new. It also provides lots of workarounds for installing ROMs and the 'incorrect software version' issue. If you have issues flashing ROMs, look here and have a good read. The answer is in there somewhere.

http://www.modaco.com/content-page/271215/rom-download-links-naming-scheme-incorrect-software-version-fix/page/320/

12. Another lot for you to try...from sector, good dude on Omnia scene @ modaco mostly. Similar stuff to Lufeig and me, but all ROMs are not same. Feel to try them out. He posted in this thread, so feel free to leave feedback on his stuff. Good stuff too!!  Wink

Link is here: http://www.modaco.com/content/i9x0-omnia-rom-discussion/279540/update-clean-cooked-rom-dxia1v1-1-spb-mobile-shell/

Also another clean one: DXIA1
http://www.modaco.com/content/i9x0-omnia-rom-discussion/279282/updated-new-updated-clean-i900rom-v1a-dxhl3-dxia1/

anything HK2 or above methinks.

Alot of people report fast GPS with HK2 & HK3.

Glad to be of service. If you find any ROMs i  haven't listed, can you post here please. The more the better. I have around 20 ROMs on my PC at the moment. Mostly custom ROMs, but some standard ones too from Secany.

Remember to flash using correct procedure.

Good luck.

Opera is missing in some ROMs, space saving.

You can get many versions of Opera (builds). I prefer the OEM95b2520 one (came stock from Samsung), works nice. I have newer ones, but prefer this.

I have black skin for the blue Opera one (newer one). If anyone needs??

flashed to this the other day used to like spb shel but the layout of this is second to none. the only problem i had with it was it kept going into landscape mode but that was easily fixed and the other little bug i found is sometimes i cannot press the ok button to accept changes soft reset required. other then this a great rom which gives good ram memory and it dosent keep going back to samsung home screen like spb so it feels like it bleongs on the phone.

not really.

XP is by far the easiest way to flash your Omnia.

You can at your OWN risk, use vmWare and create an XP partition on your hard disk, but i have never done this, but others have with mixed results. You must install XP and the Sansung modem driver into this XP vmWare psrt of your PC.

Read up on it.

Good luck. Maybe you do and write how you did it exactly for other users??

Hi all,

I have a i900 with Hong Kong ROM, if I want to update the ROM, can I used the singapore one?  Cuz there is no official HK ROM update.  Does Singapore ROM has Chinese?

it does not matter which ROM you use to update your Omnia, unless you are using the Samsung website updates.

If you do not have one for your country, then the other route is...

http://www.samsung-omnia.org/rom-discussion/a-list-of-custom-roms-available/

and

http://www.samsung-omnia.org/rom-discussion/how-to-use-a-custom-rom-(xp-only)/

The only issue you could get after doing the update from above is if you try to update to an official ROM from a custom ROM. You will get (or could get) 'incorrect software version'. There are a few guides to getting around this. Google it.

try this out..

http://www.modaco.com/content-page/277036/clean-dxhl2-rom-updated-dec-26-2008-lufeigs-lfi04a/page/220/#entry950323

very empty ROM, comes in parts (phone.bin, pda.bin, eboot.nb0, customer.csc), if you don't know what to do let me know. It comes with the right updater and a guide. so you should be alright.

It the newest of new, but has nothing in it, its a clean ROM. I am using my own version of the same HL2 ROM. It comes with a lot of new widgets, but i have them all removed.

Or you could try out the full fat version in..

http://www.modaco.com/content/i9x0-omnia-rom-discussion/272126/secanys-rom-research-thread-new-dzhl2/

so you can play with the widgets, also comes in parts, but there are single exe updater ROMs in the thread if you look.

A new, very fast and responsive rom, with M2D from Thai Chef, with a lot of small useful programs. Still have some issue with the SMS and foreign languages files, but really a v good rom.

yeah, you need to be careful with these ROMs, from here and PDAviet.com.

They have been made specifically for those regions. You will almost certainly have to set up your internet & MMS settings.

I am not saying they are bad ROMs, quite the opposite in fact, just that they have been designed for the Thai & Vietnamese markets and networks.

They still work, but some of the feature may need manually installing.

Thanks for the post, there are a lot of ROMs about.

Pdaviet.com are on V10, a new HL2 ROM with M2D.
