Hello everyone!i'm back with news.this procedure is for who wants to revert the phone to the latest OFFICIAL version, from a cooked rom.
for who is trying to flash in windows 7(32) here is (one of) the right way:
1.install vmware workstation and after in wmware an xp version(i"ve done'it with sp3)
you can install much easier from an iso from your hdd.
2.go to:http://www.damp.ro/download.php?action=download&type=file&id=132412&act=wSQdE6GaTBwq05Cf
download the latest official rom DXIA5 WITHOUT INCORRECT SOFTWARE VERSION
3.install on your virtual xp(in vmware) samsung modem driver xp and activesync.
4.Run the flash utility and follow the instructions.
5.Flash it!!!!!
I've just done'it.it worked like a charm...
and another thing:when you mount in vmware the xp iso,it will ask for a cd-key,even if you chose a cracked version.i used one of the (removed) Good luck!!!! Grin Grin Grin

Guys, call me an idiot, but the driver just won't install, every time it says "SAMSUNG Mobile Modem driver was not installed successfully (1)" . I tried looking that up, but i've found nothing, the driver seems to install without problems on other systems Smiley). What am i missing?

Hi all,

Just thought I would share something I have discovered.  I was just reading this thread and noticing that Grand prix wasnt picking up the phones after reset to load the files needed for a new ROM.

I was continually getting the PDA Not Found error and couldnt work out why.  Today I tried something different and what I did was to go the settings on the phone, USB Connections and then swapped it from ActiveSync to Mass Storage.

Once I did that I ran Grandprix software and VIOLA it worked like a charm and I now have a new ROM on the phone.

Hope this helps.
Cheers

Same here.... I've flashed my phone many times before using an XP computer. Now I'm stuck with a buggy ROM on my phone, no XP computer, and can't get the Samsung Mobile Modem Driver to install correctly.... any help would be great.

It seems that the Samsung modem driver does not work in Windows 7 64bit. I was unable to install the driver on my desktop, but was able to install it and flash a new OCK rom from my Windows 7 32bit laptop.

Thank you for this guide. I've been trying everything possible to get something like this working, but everyone kept saying you need XP (so I had to acquire VMWare, which was tenuous in itself). The i900_extractor is invaluable, as is the GrandPrix program.

Thanks again, now enjoying all the roms in the world. Using Windows 7!

If you don't use the original USB cable you can have problems.
Did you install the drivers for the i900?

Fairly old thread-and not sure if you are following it anymore, but i just registered to THANK YOU. Lots of garbage out there.
Clean and quick install without any problem.
I would recommend to all those who have mangled with their OS and software to uninstall everything that they have related to Samsung/Active Sync/Mobile Device Center etc.
Also revert your i900 to factory settings, and follow the instructions at post#1.
You will most likely have a smooth transition to your new ROM.
Thanks again for this excellent post...
