Best advice I can give is follow this http://www.samsung-omnia.org/rom-discussion/how-to-use-an-i900-custom-rom-(xp-only)/. The only way to get 6.5 is to flash to a custom ROM, there is no official upgrade, or easier way than flashing a rom. Its sounds pretty intimidating at first but its actually really easy, just follow the instructions carefully.

Most custom ROMS are based on the Verizon ROM. Flash them to a phone that uses a different provider and you may run into serious problems for whatever reason.  For instance, if you flash your Telus or Bell Mobility (Canada) i910 with a custom ROM you find on these, or any other forums you will brick your phone. I haven't seen it first hand, but apparently the battery will no longer charge and you will not be able to get any wireless signal (radio problem?).

To this point, no one has been able to get a hold of an unencrypted Telus or Bell ROM, so it's not something you can just reflash and fix. This is pretty well documented, if not here it certainly is on the modaco forums.
