HJx firmwares are created in october (J) 2008 (H).
i think (i'm using HJ6) it's faster and more stable. no new features found.

whats firmware is the version of ur phone?
see signature, last one.
and how do i check whats mine?
go to start -> settings -> system (2nd tab) -> version
whats the different
the later the better. eg fix of the wlan-bug (doesn't matter if you don't know this), more widgets for today screen and since HH1 there is kinetic scrolling.

Hi

I got my phone in Dubai and the version is JVHH1 for both phone and PDA. Is there an upgrade for that? Specially that my phone regularly hangs - ie the screen switches off and the only way to wake it up is by soft resetting.

Please advise.

Many thanks in advance.

you can choose the firmware you want. the most are in english, but this is ok i think. so check http://www.samsung-omnia.org/how-to/best-custom-roms/ and http://www.modaco.com/index.php?s=&showtopic=272126&view=findpost&p=928828

ALL settings are gone, backup your phonebook and messages, pictures,... the 8gb/16gb memory and card are not affected.
you can choose the firmware you want. latest shall be the best. or you can also try a custom rom which has inofficial changes like flash3.1 support (e.g. youtube), preinstalled tools. removed stuff no-one uses. so read the information for each custom rom.

Hi Everyone.

I am not expecting this question to be fully answered but any ideas or answers from people with experiance would be very appreciated.

I live in holland, and i am swedish my self.
And i got a brand new Samsung Omnia from my provider in holland.

But there is 1 problem, i dont fully understand dutch just to some degree.
So i am interested in changing the language to English (not swedish)

I read something about multilingual update files.
but i could not fully understand it.

Current Phone PDA/Phone (from provider)
PDA: i900XKHH8/XKHH4
Phone: i900XXHH9

And i can find this on their website (www.samsung.nl)
SGH-I900 i900XKHJ3 Multilanguage file / taal bestand (ver .i900XKHH4)
If i use that file to update my phone, could that be used to change it in to english?

@ KoLa: see first post of this thread. ^^
@ roniez: if samsung.nl offers multilingual downloads, isn't there an instruction?? but afaik language changing is possible by firmware upgrade only. if you unterstand english you can choose almost any available firmwares going around in the web.
another idea: when i went to a local samsung service point in germany and wanted to get an official upgrade, they sent it to the netherlands to do the job. so look for the adress of their "upgrading central" and ask them wheter to help you flashing another language the official way. (warranty...)
regards
