I want that screen!!
"Samsung says the new display is 20% brighter than its previous AMOLED screens, saves 20% more battery life and is 80% more reflective, meaning it won't bleach out in the sun."

I saw that phone in Person, the screen is so amazing and sharp.

Best of all, it can record HD videos, the phone feels really light on hand too.

Damn, your trying to turn me into a 'I must get that' consumer.  Grin
I would love HD and that screen but ..... when I was watching a promotional vid for a new phone I thought wow we're just consuming for consuming's sake..I must have the newest, I must have the newest, throw the old away. Then I started to think about all the stuff that goes into a new phone and how much is used to make it and how lots of people foam at the mouth when they see the 'newest version' and how they must get it. I'm by no stretch of the imagination, what people call an 'ECO warrior' and to be quite frank I never want to be associated with this type of 'look at me I'm a dirty, not washed for a month aren't I cool type', but when you take a step back and watch for a short while, you have to thing 'why?'. If your phone is faulty or just on it's last legs then get a new one, but why just because there is a new one?
Most people are happy when the get the newest model because it does what they want, and then when there's a new model announced, over night their phone suddenly doesn't do all they want and so they must update.
Lublin00 with now soft reset himself and so be back to 'normal?' in a short while.

Will samsung continue to support the Galaxy S, after it has been updated with new phones?

Unlike the omnia which has been forgotten about and left in the developers drawer.
Phones are being kept longer and longer, unlike previously when people upgraded every 12 months. I am into my 3rd year with the Omnia and it works perfectly. But I am reluctant to upgrade to samsung in case they leve me behind after 12 months as the did with my Omnia.

Or do I go for the big A who continue to support and upgrade software on even the oldest phones

Great new phones but how long will they last. :Smiley

Longevity of the OS is the most important so you can still use the newest apps, etc. The i900 was released in 2008 but you can still find plenty of apps for it.
