I don't think it will be released in the U.S. for a carrier for a good while. For people who are willing to buy it unlocked, I think it comes to the states in August.

The CPU seems to be ok for boosting if needed.

The ARM CortexTM-A8 processor is the first applications processor based on the ARMv7 architecture and is the highest performance, most power-efficient processor available from ARM. With the ability to scale in speed from 600MHz to greater than 1GHz, the Cortex-A8 processor can meet the requirements for power-optimized mobile devices needing operation in less than 300mW; and performance-optimized consumer applications requiring 2000 Dhrystone MIPS.
The Cortex-A8 processor is ARM’s first superscalar processor featuring  technology for enhanced code density and performance,  NEON™ technology for multimedia and signal processing, and Jazelle® RCT (Runtime Compilation Target) technology for efficient support of ahead-of-time and just-in-time compilation of Java and other bytecode languages.

The screen shots are very nice however, I like the spb interface much better. I hope they come up with items for this phone also. I really do like their apps. More user friendly for me, lol. Smiley

I've heard from a few websites that Samsung have dropped the Omnia branding from the i8910, thus keeping the Omnia Brand for Windows Mobile only.

Anyone want to purchase a unlocked European, T-Mobile branded Omnia i900? I'll swap for an Android 2.1 (as long as it can be upgraded in some way) phone.

I have read that too. That's ok though. Just 'cause it has a different name/number vs Omnia i900.. keep confusion down maybe.

However it is supposed to be an awesome phone, regardless of it's name.

Whew. If only wireless providers would just send you the new version of your phone when it comes out. I'm happy with my i910 for now but if/when that model hits the US markets it wont be long til I switch over.

Sorry posted in discussion section and not in here - no PC [sic] apparently.
Anyway wrote loads earlier so unless MOD moves it over here here is a linky to it:

http://www.samsung-omnia.org/general-samsung-omnia-discussions/i8910hd/

Have just spent the afternoon trying to sort out the messaging - looks like shop failed to enter the correct Message Center no. !! Had to go get a i900 manual (which is totally different) to try and talk me though where to find the MCN in settings.

Also just palyed SPB's very good game on it :
http://www.spbsoftwarehouse.com/symbian-software/puzzle/

However its screwed up the keyboard entry display - oh poo. Have sent a message to spb, so perhaps they will send me a fix - perhaps.

AccuWeather (free tool - yeah) work very well so can now check the weather without having to squint at some silly PC designed website.

Okay looks like long distance focus is not on - so no air fairs or filming ships, on a sunny day in England.

Top tip - keep camera still and let object move - stops motion sickness.
