Certain Omnia's applications unable to function.

This page is not for 3rd party software that can't work in omnia.

If untrue, please tell me.

01. Front camera cannot be used to capture picture of ownself. It is only used for video call.

02. The camera settings for Contrast, Sharpness, Saturation & WDR cannot be saved. Once you exit, the settings will go back to default. Only ISO setting can be saved.

03. The "End Call" key when long press will lock all the buttons except the 2 volume up/down keys.

04. The ringing tone will start initially from soft (3 seconds) to loud by default.

05. Omnia cannot watch certain rmvb, avi & Divx without 3rd party player.

06. Alarm will not work if the phone is switch off.

07. Omnia unable to watch Youtube yet by certain ISP.

08. Equaliser settings for the Touch Player only work when the headset is plug in.

09. Radio can only work with headset plug in to work as the antenna.

10. Omnia cannot connect to PS3 yet.

11. The 21 pre-text for SMS cannot be edited or delete.

12. Location of files received via Bluetooth cannot be change.

Touch player can play avi & divx files.
Did you download any codec in order to play?

Can’t play
Movie Clip
.rmvb
avi
Divx
Flv

Can play
Windows Media Audio/Video File
Mp4

Some can, some can’t
Video Clip = avi

touch player can play some divx (avi) files, with limited resolution up to 240x400 pixels (as per screen's), beyond that you will either get an audio only (when you are lucky) or an error message, samsung surely did not put the divx logo on the packaging without any reason, but i feel they did not really put their effort to it, 3rd party player (such as coreplayer) can do this job amazingly, with an almost unlimited video resolution...

Agreed with you. Tried Core Player, good. But prefer to use the default Touch Player.
One question, "divx (avi)" confirm divx = avi or?

i think now there is a thin line between real divx and avi files, almost all of my divx videos are in .avi, and some of my .avi are xvid videos, so divx/xvid is more of the encoding, not necessarily the type of files.

peter_ming, thanks.

Just want to consolidate the types of files that Omnia can play by default.

.mp4    mp4 File - by Touch Player - tested OK
.wmv   Windows Media Video/Audio file - by WMP - tested OK
.avi     Video Clip -
.mpg   Movie Clip -
.rmvb   RMVB File - can't play, need Real Player,  not tested yet
.flv      FLV File - can't play, need FLV Player or Core Player, Core Player tested OK
.Divx   Divx File - can't play, need Dixv Player or Core Player,  not tested yet
.Xvid   Xvid File - can't play, not tested yet

.mp4  - MPEG-4
.wmv  - Windows Media Video
.avi    - Audio Video Interleave
.mpg  - Moving Picture Experts Group
.rmvb - RealMedia Variable Bitrate
.flv    - Flash Video
.Divx  - Digital Video Express
.Xvid  - is a video codec library following the MPEG-4 standard.

AVI is the container format. The Omnia can play *.avi files as long as the video has been encoded with DivX. The Omnia CANNOT play Xvid files (also *.avi) without 3rd party software such as Coreplayer.

Whilst on this topic, My Omnia cannot use S2U2 correctly as going into "Power Off" locks the unit in the Black screen of Death!

**EDIT**

Have fixed the S2U2 issue, Seems the problem has been fixed in the latest version 1.36...

Just wanna add this
You can't turn the screen off while charging your phone. Hit power button forcing it off, the phone will turn on itself shortly.

i have always been able to shut the screen whilst charging. i justhit my power button. If you have issue then read on...

Try using this app. The shutdown feature doesn't work, but soft reset and screen out do.

also i have added some skins to the original post on page one somewhere.
