Create a 45 x 45 pixels .png image (e.g. your_image.png) and paste it into your device's \Windows.

Then, using a Registry Editor, go to HKLM\Security\Shell\StartInfo\Start and select the .lnk folder, with the program name, that you want to change the icon.

Change the value of the string named Icon to \Windows\your_image.png. If it's not there, create one.

Restart your device.

Thanks for the info but i have never done a registry edit and am a little afraid to do so. is there any way you could provide some screen shots with step by step, or is that asking alittle much. Maybe just dumb it down for me. For example lets say i wanted to change the icon for Windows media player. Its the  "change the VALUE of the STRING" part that i'm having trouble with. I just dont get it.

Oh... Huh?

You want to change the icons in SPB Phone Suite or do you mean to change the SPB PS icon itself?

Oh sorry for not being clear but I want to change (or add some) the icons frome SPB suite itself. There are about 8 of them (speaker,tree,dice,car, etc.)and I don't like them.
So I thought I follow your steps, but as said, I can't find the ping files..

My method is for icons in the WinMo's Start Menu, not for SPB.

Maybe you should try looking into the SPB folder, whether there are any image files that represents its icons.

For me, I'm using SPB Mobile Shell, all those images are inside some .dat files.

For SPB MS, just rename the extension .dat to .zip and open with WinZip or WinRar.

I am 1 or 2 steps further now. I renamed the .dat to .zip and made a copy to my desktop. Then tried to open it with 'extractnow', but don't know the password..
I keep searching! Thanks so far.

Omnian. I basically want to change them all to be black/blue/white. For example i want to change the Skyfire "S" to a Blue circle with a black "S". I have seen a windows media player icon that is black and blue. I use SPB MS 3 and if u want me to list all of the icons i actually use let me know. I will try and find examples of all of them and post them here.
