here's what I did...

1. Choose the audio file (I use mp3) you want to use as your ringtone.
If you want to edit/cut/trim your audio file, try using Audacity (google it) or any     sound editting applications that u prefer.

2. Copy-Paste the file into the ROOT of your My Storage.
3. Check back Sounds & Notifications if the file is included already.

heres what i did.

www.makeownringtone.com

^^you can cut out the part of the song you want as your ringtone and download it to your computer as an MP3
then just hook it up our Omnia to your computer, place the download MP3 in your 'My Ringtones' Folder

and then go to settings, sounds, and select your song from the list.

I gotta look around for a good source for just 'standard' ringtones.  I absolutely HATE when people use song's as their ring tone.  It's like HEY LOOK AT ME!  I prefer the subtle tones/rings that SOUND LIKE A PHONE RINGING! Smiley This accomplishes 2 things; I know when my phones ringing, people don't look at me like I'm a retard. My 2 cents

LOLOLOL....that is funny. I agree with you SLAMPIG....but only to a point. All the custom ringtones I have are related to people and their peersonalities. The ones I hate are the ones that sound like a 1950's phone...."Look at me people, I have this $300+ phone that sounds like a 1950's phone"......LOLOL.

If you want custom ringtones, you can put them anywhere in the memmory...I would reccommend either of the storage area's. If you want a new ALERT message (i.e. I have "Hit the Road jack" as a wake up alarm), you have to put them in your WINDOWS directory as a WAV file....well, at least that is the way it was on my i760 and initial testing is that it is this way on the Omnia also.

If I am wrong...sorry peeps!

def!

When I try to save a MP3 file to my Ringtones folder on my laptop to then sync with my phone I get the error message "Cannot copy ringtone[1]: Access denied. Make sure the disk is not full or write-protected and that the file is not currently in use."  I checked all those suggestions and they do not apply.  Does anyone know what could be wrong?

Just create a folder in your "My Storage" memory and call it Ringtones.  Put all your files in there, wait 20s and reset the device.  Should work fine.

Thanks guys.

My next questions is how to change my sync settings so that the files on my PC that sync with my phone come from a different place then the current folder.  Anyone know how to do this?  I tried using the help function, but it was not much help.
