Is there anyway to make the screen light up briefly when you receive a text message?  The only way I know if I have a text if I hear it.  Sometime I cant hear it, but like to see it as well...like when Im driving with the radio up, I can see it light up out of the corner of my eye like when the phone rings.

I would like to know this as well. I have had a bunch of other WM phones and this is the first one that doesnt do this. Kind of a pain if you ask me. Should be an easy registry fix. Hope someone knows how.

Thanks

Is driving & viewing sms legal over your side?
SMS received to me is usually not so important. If important, the person sholud have call you. Agreed?
My workaround solution is:
1. Put to vibrate mode & place near your body or in your shirt pocket.
2. Choose the longest mp3 as your sms alert tone & put Omnia volume to maximum.
3. Select screen on always
Set back to default after you reach your destination

If I understand correctly, you want to have the screen turn on by itself when receiving a text message, to do this: (I don't know the exact English translation because my phone is in dutch, but it is a simple windows mobile function...)
Start > Settings > Sounds & Notifications > Notifications > Messages: New text message
There you should select the third option: "blink light during" then select no limit or another time.
You should also select the second option: "show message in screen"

Hope it helps.

greets,
