I am having a huge problem trying to get my omnia to connect to windows 7.  I connect it, it brings up installing drivers, both fail, WMDC installs.  Here's a list of what I have tried so far:

1.  Uninstall, REinstall WMDC (doesn't work)
2. Manually update drivers, connect to WMDC (doesn't work)
3. Uncheck "Advanced Functionality", installs "Samsung MITs USB Sync" driver (still doesn't connect)
4. Removed all drivers and WMDC, reinstall everything (doesn't work)

Basically have tried everything that I can think of.  What I can identify being a problem is in my device manager, it only shows up under one part at one time.  It shows up as a Network adapter when advanced functionality is on, but not mobile device.  And it shows up as a mobile device when it is disable, but not network adapter.  I belive it needs to be shown up as both.

I realllllly would like to be able to get this to work, I have had nothing but problems with this phone and am sick of the phone not performing up to its basic capabilities since the day I got it (hell I can't even answer a phone call when I'm in text messaging, but thats a whole other story).  Any help to get this fixed would be greaaaatttly appreciated.

Attached is a screencap of my device manager when "Advanced Functionality" is disabled

I don't use WMDC but could it be that the phone is set to Mass storage device and are you using an original Samsung USB? Have you tried re-downloading WMDC in case the file is corrupted? You have USB2 enabled?
All I can think of at the moment that has caused other people problems in the past but normally when flashing a ROM. Is it a standard ROM?

No, I have USB set to ActiveSync.  I have redownloaded WMDC 6.1 and 6.0 each a few times.  I have USB 2.0 enabled.  It is a standard ROM, brand new Omnia as of last Thursday (this is my sixth one, all have been faulty, 3 total with this same problem, none I have been able to fix, happens on XP, Vista, and 7 for me)

Strange how it's happened so many times, have you scanned for Viruses etc, on your PC?
Have you tried to sync it on another, friends maybe, PC?

When you tried it on XP you did use ActivSync and not WMDC, didn't you?
Is your firewall blocking it? Disconnect the internet cable and turn your firewall off and try it again - don't forget to turn your firewall back on afterwards.
Other than this, I think it is most probably a hardware problem with the phone. You really have been unlucky with your Omnias.

I too have tried everything to get my Omnia to sync with WMDC on Windows 7 64-bit. I had no trouble using it with Vista 32-bit OS, but this upgrade has stopped my ability to use the Omnia with my PC. It's the only problem I have had with the upgrade and it is ironic that the program is a Microsoft windows product. I have removed, restarted, updated, etc. etc. dozens of time, but nothing works.

Right now my PC recognizes that the Omnia (SCH-i190) is connected, but wmdc won't connect to the phone. I have tried to modify WMDC's default connection in a couple of ways, but that too hasn't worked.

This must be a problem shared by all Omnia/WMDC users who upgraded their PC's to Windows 7 64-bit. I wish Microsoft, Verizon, or Samsung woould devise a simple download for the Omnia to be recognized by WMDC on Windows 7 64-bit computer.

I had this problem before. It takes about 10 mins for the PC to find and install all the drivers for the phone. Drill down in the device manager and uninstall drivers as well as remove the device from WMDC and then plug the phone in and get a cup of coffee. Dont do anything unless you are prompted to or WMDC says connected

Not that simple.  Tried this, my phone either installs the mobile device driver "MITs Samsung USB Sync" or "Remote Network Adapter #2", but not both at the same time, which I believe is the problem, and WMDC does not connect.

Mine works fine but I probably couldn't tell you how or why.  W7 Ultimate and custom ROM.  I upgraded from Vista 64bit and there were no hic-ups.  I connect using the USB cable that came with the phone, then I manually open WMDC from the Start menu.  I'm allowed access to the phones files in about 15 seconds...tops.

Just found this app a few minutes ago and it might be a good workaround if you have wifi. Its remote access for you phone. Basically you just connect your phone to your wifi network and then input the IP address it gives you into a browser. You can then access your phone through your computer.

If you don't have wifi, bluetooth is another option if you have it. You might want to also try and change your usb settings to Mass Storage and then you'll just have to access it as a removable storage. If all else fails go back to verizon and since you said this is your 6th phone they will replace your phone with another comparable device. I would suggest a Droid or any of the new WinMo HTC phones.

"I GOT MY OMNIA I910 (MetroPCS) WORKING ON WINDOW 7 64bit" Actually my brother got it working for me... Smiley I'll ask him if he can do alittle write-up and explain how he did it for those of you that havent figured it out as of yet... "Working": (Phone as a modem (Using it to write this up) Smiley , Connection with WMDC, SamsungPST, Etc... Everything Stable!!! Google these Drivers (SAMSUNG-Mobile-USB-DRIVER4.40.7.0-v1.6), I know thats the drivers he used and just did something through "Device Manager"

Hope this helps!

I had this same problem and i was able to fix it somewhat easy.
1. Delete WMDC and do not reinstall!
2. Delete all drivers that have to do with your phone.
3. Set phone to active sync on ( or check the box :P)
4. restart computer.
5. Boot up computer.
6. after the computaaar is done loading plug in your phone.
7. beeps and shakes.
8. go to my computer, click device.
9. ????
10. Profit.

I hope this helps. that is how i had to fix this problem.
