I'm a newb and having trouble setting up my email account.

FTR - I have verizon yahoo

I set the incoming to incoming.yahoo.verizon.net and the outgoing to outgoing.yahoo.verizon.net.

I can receive emails just fine but the problem is that I cannot send for some reason. It says "the message could not be sent. Check that you have network coverage and that your account information is correct and try again."

Thanks in advance!

Check settings in "advanced set up"
or check memory. If your memory is too full it may not be able to send, and this is a standard error message the phone gives

This is my understanding, which comes (of course) without warranty....

Verizon used to (pre-Aug-30th) had a smtp server that relayed your e-mails to your final ISP. Verizon, deciding that it was good customer service to make it harder for their customers to send e-mail </sarcasm> took the smtp relay off line. It may have been related to the fact that it was/potentially was being used for spam. Which justifies gumming it up for their paying customers, but I need to stop now....

MS has noted the inability that causes this error, and has posted a bug fix for WM 6.1. The update is here (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=d9d71b2e-d2dd-44f2-86e5-1e53aad7fb7a&displaylang=en ), the Verizon Omnia update page is here (http://support.vzw.com/phones/index.html?p=4366).

After I installed this, I was able to send and receive e-mail from Cox, my ISP.  I think all Omnia users, since it's a Verizon phone, need to do this update soon if they use their phones for e-mai.  I still can't use my company's Outlook Web, but at least I have my home ISP in and out to my Omnia.
