yeah, im hearing you. im not too savvy when it comes to ROM upgrades and such. so i have just left it alone.  but, just as a tip, when you use back-up software... such as SPB BackUp... that will back up all your programs and settings (im quite sure).  you see.... when i first began using the omnia, i was under the impression that the backup software on backed up sms, email, contacts, etc. so i never bothered installing one. so after my hard resets, i was finding myself re-installing and setting up all my software again.  but as soon as i found out what SPB Backup was capable of, i was all over it.

so that might be an option for you aswell.

Funny that you mention it. I've been using SPB Backup for about two weeks now and it's great. But if I switch to a new Rom, will the backup still be compatible? And along with this, say the Rom I select has some of the standard programs removed (Smart Reader, Photo Slides, etc.) Wont a backup re-install these programs?

If you use Resco radio to stream shoutcast, it creates a growing file named http trace.  Mine grows to 20 MB so delete it and space will reappear.

Backup only goes back to previous same rom, not compatible if you flash to new rom.

"shift" means cut & paste manually to other location from the Device memory.

Hi,
I have an application called RunGps.

During installation of the .cab file it asked where to install it and I selected storage card. The installation is on the storage card but it also created some folders and files in My Storage within a My Documents folder. I would rather keep everything on the storage card. Anyone know if there is a reg entry that can be manipulated ?

Installation choosing on storage card will create some folders and files in My Storage is ok because you have a huge space.

It will also create some folders and files in My Device which you have no choice.

You can't keep everything on the storage card.

plz help! a simple question. If I have an app that installs thru activesync (skyscape app) and this app does NOT prompt me to choose the destination folder i want, does it mean i can do nothing to install directly on My Storage, especially that the app is large, and i don't want to delete my default files. I don't think it would be enough anyway.

I'm sorry to have posted this question in ur discussion, but it seemed very relevant in light of the many forum rules i read. thank u all

Personally given the type of app that it is (medical) you may be best served to put it on a sd card alone. Just my 2 cents. Major problem I find with the Omnia is not having an outside slot for the sd card like other phones. I hope they fix that some day, cause like others, don't like constant removal of the card and battery.. not in that order of course. But any medical program like that, because of it's size, you may want to keep it separate so you don't eat up space on the phone.
