I just bought an  8 GB MicroSDHC card. Unfortunately I can't get it to format. It doesn't show up on my phone as having a card inserted. Does anyone have an answer to this problem.

Thanks

Test it on your PC using card reader, clean the contacts & try again.

Thanks. I already tried that also. It doesn't even show up on my computer. I'm wondering if it's a bad card.

I just got an 8 Gb Transcend Micro SDHC class 6 card with adapter.  It reads just fine on my PC but when I put it in my omnia i910 (updated to CFO3) the phone hangs at start up with the Verizon wireless screen with the indicator flashing across it.   The card says it's FAT32 and has 7.9 Gb available when I read it on the PC. I am able to copy files to it and read from it when attached to the PC.   I have tried everything I know.  The phone boots with the old 2 GB card,  and without any card at all but not with the new 8Gb.   I have reinserted card many times.   Reformatted it with the Panasonic SDHC formatter,  tried a hard reset of the phone. Same results every time.   I didn't think I would need a registry hack or anything to make this work--thinking up to 16 Gb is supported natively.  I'm at wits end.  I would be glad of any help anyone can give.

Did you transfer your files in the 2gb to the new 8gb sd card before using the new card?

When I first got my Omnia, I took a card out of Palm phone and put it in the Omnia.  The Omnia did not recognize it.  My solution was to format it on my computer and then the Omnia 'saw' it. I then reformatted it in the Omnia phone and its OK.

Flani  - can your computer 'see' it if you double click on the drive it is in?  And then format it in the computer?

Yes, the first time I did.  I took the 2 gb card out and transferred the files to PC using the mini-reader.   Then I put the files onto the 8 Gb card and inserted it into the phone.  Would not boot.  Phone boots without any card at all so I don't think there is anything on the card that the phone needs to finish booting.  When that did not work, I deleted the files and reformatted the card from PC and tried again.  Still no luck.  Then reformatted with the Panasonic reformatter--no luck either.  Hard reset the phone- still nada.  UGH!
