I have been skulking around for three weeks looking at the forum, took delivery two days ago finally.  My first of no doubt many questions is:  I'm getting the Storage memory critically low remove some items etc.  My problem is finding what is filling it up.  Have looked through settings system and memory.  I can see it is MY STORAGe that is full but can't find what i Need to delete.  Please help.  If it is pictures I have transfered then how do i move them and is it move to MY DEVICE?

Really want to crack this phone but it is tough for a noob.

Cheers guys for any help   :Smiley

Hi, install your applications/games only on "My Storage" & soft reset. Also clear your Temp Files, cookies, etc.

Cheers Wizard,  managed to sort that out, my next problem is converting the sync function in windows mobile device center.  Currently It is saving everything to my storage, i want to save to the 8gb my device surely.  Can't see an obvious solution.  Thanks for your help by the way.  Also whilst i have your attention is there a way to get an audible sound or display when i receive a new email?  Or would I have to be permanently connected to the wifi?

Settings/Sounds & Notifications/Notifications tab/Event pull down, you can customise all tones/display/flashing light/vibrate for your incoming call, sms, email, etc. Place your mp3/wav in "My Storage" via usb mode.

Mine is also telling me that it is CRITICALLY LOW however I don't see anything in there except for

The memory info states:

Storage
Total: 88.17
In Use: 88.17
FREE: 0.00

What the heck is going on!?

Do I need to explore the device via the PC to see files and delete them vs. exploring on the device and deleting them?

Also, when I LOOK in the folder (My Storage) via the device, I only see:

_UniqueId 12/12/08 5B
POCKETFS 11/7/08 10.0K

Please help me because this phone is slowing WAY down!! Shocked

what does your program memory say?

When you get 'memory critically low' it is referring to the Omnia, not My Storage or Storage Card.

You may have filled program memory??

Hard to tell.

ok race, strange.

how long you had Omnia?? When i got mine, it did this too me a couple of times within the first few days of owning it. But then stopped?

Don't know, how often do you soft reset it?

You shoudnt be getting this error from your memory readings?

Last point of call is to hard reset, this will (or should) fix it. If you keep getting it, you could have a faulty Omnia, in that case take it back to shop for a new one?

I got it last week on Monday and have a 4Gig card I install all my apps on. I also installed the Cleaning Utility (Clear Temp) in an attempt to stay on top of it. It has worked alright but it keeps on filling up and warning me again.

I am going to back up all my stuff and do a hard reset/restore on it this weekend....

If it happens again, I will be exchanging my phone at Verizon.

Still love the phone though!
