bigperm - I discovered if you select other options in Settings - Today - Items such as calendar, it will appear in the 25% space below... pretty cool.

Like others (including the OP), I had to manually input this as the Import function was grayed out in the PHM RegEdit.  (i910)

Also, took me a bit to realize the reason none of the buttons under the settings tab worked--you have to click the settings icon again to unlock them.   Embarrassed

Can anypost some screenshots of ST2?  I'd like to see what the hype is all about.  I'm getting tired of the widget and am searching for alternatives.

Wow, the person who says that they had the problem with the message button is right. I had installed Adrynalyn's cab that enables it, and when I would click on Message it would vibrate like crazy, and not do anything. I decided to instead do what Adrynalyne said as far as the registry editor I basically copied all the entries from Samsung Today into a new key which I named Samsung Today 2, and then changed that one secst thing, and now the message button and everything works fine. Very strange.

Is that a weather icon next to your clock?  I thought you could not display the weather in Today 2.  Please explain.  Thanks for posting the pics, btw.

I edited the registry with no problem, then activated ST2.  However, the settings icons don't seem to do anything.  I've tried tapping and tap-hold, but nothing.  Also, is there a way to change a phonebook selection?  I accidentally chose the wrong entry and can't figure out a way to delete or change it from the today screen.
Thanks,
John

Edit:  I just realized that the Settings and Phone icons are active.  Tapping them locks/unlocks the features.  Now that I've figured that...  ST2 rocks!

ok, before anyone says it, I made the cardinal rule of NOT copying my registry before I mucked with it, I know a BIG NO NO.  Can anyone give me the old registry values for the today screen.  Mine vibrates and locks when I hit the message button.  So I'm going to make a new file, re-label it Today, then replace everything in the Today 2, but leave the secst.dll and see if that works.  Or if someone could tell me just what to change so I can make it quit vibrating.

edit:  Well all is well, after a soft reset, the message icon functions fine, no vibrating.. Cheesy

the icon next to the clock is a sun that shows if you are on daylight savings time or not. it's not weather.

One of the big reasons I went to M2D / SPB Shell / etc is I don't like the Samsung Main Menu because I can't customize it to have just the icons I care about (don't use Touch Player, etc).  For those of you using Today 2 have you found a good alternative Launcher app that can replace Main Menu that's more configurable?

yes install wktask, sorry no link but search for it, it is a must for the omina IMO, it has a launcher that you activate with a finger gesture down, between that and the start menu, i never use the main menu, or programs buttons.

Where did you find the icons at the bottom of your today screen??

I'm talking about the battery meter and the three coloured icons below it.

Cheers

Hi All,

So this is my first post, first tweak, first everything to ever change, so I have a total Newbie question:

I followed the steps outlines in this thread, so where do I go on my phone now to access the Today 2?

***Nevermind, I think I got it to work now. The file I downloaded wasn't recognized for the phone. It said it seemed to be for a registry for a PC. I I just did everything from scratch and it seemed to show up.
