Hi all , 1st Post. ..

Not sure if its already been posted .

Its quite simple and does not require a hard rest.

In the phone keypad type: *#0002*28346#

You will then have a screen pop up called audio control util.

How to change the loudspeaker volume for ringtones, movies, mp3s etc

Click menu, normal then handset (the first one, Phones headset/loudspeaker) Here you can change:

Speaker volume: SPK(02) -db is less volume, I have set this to -1.5db (level)
Digital-to-analog: DAC(0C) This effects the overall volume of Mp3s, movies etc -both headset and loud speaker. I have set this to 0db.
Radio Volume: RVOL

How to change the headset / earphones volume.

Click menu, normal then headset (the second one, Headphones) Here you can change:

Headphones volume: HP(02) -db is less volume +db is more volume, I have set this to 0db (level)
Digital-to-analog: DAC(0C) This effects the overall volume of Mp3s, movies etc. I have set this to 0db.
Radio Volume: RVOL

*You must click menu / apply for changes to take effect,
*I recommend play a Mp3 launch the app, then apply the changes and set your prefered max volume.
*Setting high levels could damage the loud speaker or your headphones, not to mention your hearing!.

So there you have it, you can have headphones louder than an iphone or ipod if you wish. I don't recommend touching other settings unless you know what your doing or have copied the defaults so you can revert back incase you srew something up!

I just tried this on my Verizon i910 - didn't do anything at all. After dialing *#0002*28346# nothing happened!

Can anyone advise if this worked for them on the i910? Or is this exclusive to the i900?

I use the Verizon i910 as well.
I found this in the Modaco forums the other day:

1. Launch an mp3 player (tested with S2P and the Omnia's media player)
2. Launch SoundTester.exe
3. Minimize SoundTester, launch your registry editor
4. Using the task switcher, switch back to SoundTester
5. Play with the SoundTester Normal->Headset settings until you like the sound. You may need to restart a song each time you change the settings in order to hear the difference (I did). For what it's worth, the only setting I could actually increase was the values of the last value, I forget the title of it (R-something). That did, however, increased the volume.
6. Without closing SoundTester, switch over to your registry editor and look at HKLM\SAMSUNG\AUDIO. You should see a HEADSETNORMAL key. Look in there and you will find some DWORD entries (a bunch of numbers and letters). To add more detail, the only value that changes in the registry values at HKLM\SAMSUNG\AUDIO - HEADSETNORMAL is the 3rd value (0x12) and the rest of the values remain unchanged. I also changed the HANDSETNORMAL values.
7. These are the entries you should record (write down in paper). Write all if you want to be extra careful.
8. Close SoundTester (It will remove these entries, phone goes back to low volume)
9. Open your reg editor HKLM\SAMSUNG\AUDIO - HEADSETNORMAL and HANDSETNORMAL and change the 3rd value (0x12) to the value you wrote down.
10. Wait 20 seconds, do a soft-reset and test. The sound should've increased.

I haven't tried this so I can't verify that it works or not. I'd be careful adjusting these settings. You don't want to damage your speakers.

Does anyone have the instructions to increase the volume on a BT headset?  I tried the instructions above and it works for the OEM headset but it doesn't increase the volume on my Jabra BT3030.  I've been looking at a few forum and no luck.  Cry

HELP ME!!!!!  I screwed up my i910 version Omnia's volume yet once again, and I'm so close to throwing the damn thing out the window, it's not funny.  I have a Mac, not a pc, and I'm using Missing Sync since the app that came with the phone doesn't work on a Mac, only a pc.  Everything works fine between my mac and my Omnia, except I've tried downloading a registry editor and nothing works, even though I port over the .cab file via Missing Sync.  Please, someone, I've tried changing things through Sound Tester, but nothing reverts back and all I did was tweak one little thing, Talking Handset from RX(16)
-9 db to -6.  I saved it properly (Menu-apply) and something took, but now my speakers are screeching and I can't receive phone calls and pick up without almost busting my eardrums.  I tried putting that one thing back to -9 and it seems to take it, but nothing changes.  I'm out of my mind; I need my phone but am seriously considering getting rid of something that was so bastardized once it left the Far East and Verizon got its hands on it in America.  Help me, guys, before I do something I'll be sorry for!!

Import this registry file using your registry editor.  This is an export of my registry for the appropriate entries. Hope it helps

Okay, because I'm on a Mac, I'm not so sure I did this properly.  I can't work with anything directly from my laptop because the files are not Mac-compatible (freakin Windows!!!!), so I went through Missing Sync for Windows Mobile, which syncs my i910 Omnia with my Mac.  The app that came with the phone to do this, of course, won't work on my computer, so Missing Sync works in its place (created by brilliant Mac people).  So I mounted my phone thru this app and was able to drag and drop the file you posted and put it in My Storage, My Docs, next to where I have RegEdit.  I checked between the files you'd given me and what I already had on my phone, and everything seems to be at the same levels.  So what's going on here?  I'm scratching my head at this point, wondering why I didn't just pass on this phone in the first place and get an iphone?  Not only are pc-based things harder to understand and tweak, but then Verizon had to play with this phone even more and block anything we might want to do to make them more our own.  Again, help!

I swear, if no one can help me here, this phone is going out the window.  I've had it.  The damn speakers screech and just about blow my eardrums out.  I don't want to have to hard-reset because I'll lose everything I have on the phone.  Damn Verizon to h*** for getting their hands on this phone and ruining something that should have been a joy.  Or is it because I'm just a Mac person who made an idiotic choice and shoulda stuck with Apple products?Huh?

The reg file I uploaded was an extraction of my registry.  My phone currently is not experiencing the screech problem with the current registry setting, however, I have had the screech when I was tinkering with the settings previously.  I have never owned a Mac, so I can't help you there, but the registry entries I uploaded should have worked.  The other thing you can try is just deleting all the entries.  The entries are not present when the phone is on a clean hard reset.  Try deleting the entries and performing a soft reset.  It would be better than what you are experiencing now.

Use the registry editor on your phone, and delete the SAMSUNG key under the HKLM.  That should delete all the subkeys underneath it.

Step by step:
1. open registry editor
2. open Hkey_local_machine
3. select SAMSUNG key
4. Delete SAMSUNG key and all subkeys (and data)

I use resco registry editor, but most all registry editors work the same way (PHM etc.)  If you are unhappy with the registry editor you are using you should be able to search for one in Opera and download it directly to the phone.

Thanks for all your help, but there's nothing that says "delete" on my phone when I'm in the registry editor (RegEdit).  I got to exactly the spot you mentioned for "samsung," but not even one of the keys/links allows me to delete.  I just ported everything over to my Mac, I'm doing a hard reset, just biting the bullet.  I hate my phone.  And BTW, I hate Samsung non-support.  I basically taught the guy in tech support where the volume key was on the outside of the phone!  If this is Level 2 support, then we are in deep caca :-O
