from users experience and mine as well it appear problem still persists.

i think this trick might b working in some roms but you can see still on the whole problem has not been resolved perfectly.

i have tried to change at least 5 roms (official and custom), hard resetting phone but its working on non.

better remove "Solved" from subject.

it definitely works with the 910, so it would be better to add "910" to the subject

Forgive me if I am wrong, but I believe by hard resetting the phone you are returning the phone back to factory settings. This is obviously going to undo any changes you have made. Nowhere does it state in the instructions to hard reset the phone after making this change. I in fact never reset my phone at all after making this change.

It works for me and a number of other users, so in our cases the issue is solved.... But, just for you users that the change does not work for, a DISCLAIMER has been added to the initial post.

Nice post & good news for i910 users, I begin to love the increasing ringtone for my i900 because I would answer the call within 3 seconds Cool

I can't get PHM REGedit to install onto my i910. I have tried everything and I can get it to save as a program file but none of the .cabs will open. It is getting frustrating, can anyone help Angry

Never mind, just had to figure out which cab to install.

Go to HKCU\ControlPanel\SoundCategories\Ring\AttenuationCategory and change the value to 1 and you are all fixed. No more annoying increasing ringtone. Set it loud and have it loud, set it low and keep it low Smiley

I cannot find this directory HKCU in the File Explorer, and I have searched using the search feature with no luck.

Please can you be more specific as to where I can find it?

I'd be really grateful for any help - the increasing ring is very irritating.

you need to have PHM regedit.  once installed open the application and you'll be able to find HKEY_CURRENT_USER which stands for HKCU

get program from here http://www.samsung-omnia.org/how-to/howwhatwherewhichwhywhen/ number 8

Thank you for this, I am at work at the moment but I'll be sure to try this tomorrow when I've had a sleep, and I'll let you know the results.

All the best,

Steven
