i quite like fring (connects to AIM, Yahoo,MSN, Skype)...except that the keyboard obscures the text box you're typing into, so you can't see what you've written

The Skype connection also means you can make Skype calls, without a) paying for calls; and b) without consuming 3G time,if you have an ActiveSync or WiFi connection

I prefer BeeJiveIM they have a WM6 chat client still in beta. They stopped development on it. I do get errors every once in awhile but it doesn't curve me from re-installing it. Solid.

in the past ive tried:

aim mobile beta - way too slow and sluggish
eqo - smooth, not finger friendly, doesnt alert you on today screen of new messages
palringo - my favorite but alot of connection and battery issues. they have a good development team and support forum that addresses issues
fring - just read about it on this thread. i like it alot except the whole issue with the keyboard covering your IM window space

ill try ebuddy next.. i think ill stick with palringo if they can sort out the issues though

Is there any good instant messenger program out there that would be compatible with the Omnia? Preferable that it's similar to trillian, where aim, msn, and etc are integrated in one program. If possible, it can do voice or video chat(utilize the cam on the omnia). Forgot one more important thing, one that doesn't require you to register an account on the program's website and have to log in through that account so you can use your instant messenger account. Also, you can log onto multiple account at once for what ever instant messenger you choose to use.

Try using BeeJive. It's a great multi-client chat program.

I've used this on Blackberry devices before and it works beautifully. I don't know about voice or video chat, though.

Nimbuzz is the best. And it's totally free. Seems like everyone I would even chat with is on facebook though, so I usually just stick with FIM.
