I think i used the newer version of M2D on that build, that was one of the issues that was 'about' when i released the ROM.

As you might already know, these ROMs are like 12+ months old. At the time it was cutting edge stuff (kind of).

To make it work, try looking for the cab of the settings app, it is around somewhere at modaco & xda for sure. Just google it my friend.

I did have it, but i have to nuke my PC not long after stopping cooking, i lost all my Omnia stuffs, and more besides.

I feel your pain though and wish i could fix it for you.

Thanks for using the build.

I've tried bouth, and it goes like this:
- phone, bluetooth, beam, airplane mood, data connection works fine.
- wi-fi will not turn on. Don't know why. If anyone have idea, do tell.

Wi-fi is a lost cause with this phone.
But I believe it has more to do with the router you are trying to connect to than the phone or whatever ROM you have installed.

WiFi works on the Omnia, all day every day...

The issues people usually have is the Router side not connecting to Omnia. This requries some skills to re-connect the two together.

WiFi always worked (i am not on about my ROMs Tongue) for me, sometimes i had to reboot, or delete all settings and start afresh.

Good luck.

@ Biber....glad you got it all working and that you like my build

That's what I'm saying.
If your router doesn't like it, save yourself the heartache and buy a new router (mine's a Billion 7404VGP).
Shokka you must be bored with your iPhone if you are frequenting this forum?
I'm tossing up what phone to get next? I'm thinking either a Galaxy S or sticking with WM and finding an HD2?
Not really attracted by the iPhone?
What do you think?

Never bored of my iPhone...... Tongue

I am here, and at htcdesireforum.org also at modaco forums for Omnia, Hero & Desire, also at xda forums for Hero, Desire & Android stuff.

I am also at other forums for Xbox 360, Xbox, PS3, Head-Fi.org, XBMC, lots and lots and some more too!!

I am Omnipresent, i am everywhere!!

I got a HTC Desire instead of a Galaxy S. I dont like Samsung devices, never have done. Even the Omnia was fugly. Out of box Omnia was awful, that is why i turned to ROMs, and cooking!!

The iPhone 4 is a very good phone. Out of the phones i had, the iPhone is by FAR the best. It feels like a really finished product, looks great, is fast, reliable, stable, lots of Apps, etc etc. When they are JailBroken, there isnt much that can beat it.

But i am a phone man, i play with them all. Experience is better than hearsay.

But Android is super cool, still a way to go till its on iOS level, but for users its nice.

Take care

I loved this compact and efficient stuff. But,

Same problem as Revhead. Wifi connects with IP assigned but no Internet. Fiddled with all the possible settings to Router as well as phone. Nothing works.

Tried a few other Roms also perhaps most of them have this issue. Anzo's ROM is he one with working internet over wifi:-
http://www.modaco.com/content/i900-general-omnia-rom-discussion/293838/rom-anzo-romarium-update-14-02/

And here is one of my favorites with very light footprint. I got it from master shokka's "list of i900 roms available" post:-

Thing is, this ROM and all my others are OLD....still very good both cosmetically and performance wise, but new standards in WiFi maybe causing this WiFi issue.

There NEVER was an issue at releaase with WiFi.

I do not know how to help you.

I would like to thank shokka for all the amazing work he's done and all time & effort he's spent. The Roms are commendable.

Yes I think its the wifi standard changed issue. Some of the computers capable of wpa-aes just refuse to connect to multi-standard routers. Similar is the case with the downward compatibility of the routers. Though I've used both D-link & Linksys ones, none of them want to help my omnia Out. Same thing happened with one of my pcs last time. Perhaps one or two cabs need to be upgraded and hope someone still working on it might find a solution soon for omnia. Coz few of the custom roms are still able to connect.  Just thanks & appreciation for the amazing work of shokka.

Mate I played around with this for ages.
I hard reset, went back from 6.5 to 6.1 and even got my phone to connect to hotel wifi at one point, so I know it works.
It just doesn't like my router.
So if you are desperate to connect to your home network I'd suggest changing routers to something that is compatible.

As I said, I am able to connect my phone to my router when I use other roms hence the problem isn't at the router end. I've linksys, D-link and I tried at my office wifi too.

Here are two latest ROMs capable of wifi. Off course, Shokka's lite editions are one of my favorites. I'm on OCK's lite version and I'm loving it. I got the references from fellow forumers at modaco:-

That's interesting . . .
I actually reverted from WM6.5 to 6.1 looking for a solution. I didn't find one but I reckon the phone works better (it was of course designed to use 6.1).
Been using Khuanchai_IF1_21001_UL_PP6 for a while now - a lite ROM but I wanted a lite one because I primarily use SPB Mobile Shell with mskip's WP7 theme (even better functionality.
Shokka's was my first cooked ROM.
I like the look of a lot of ROMs including Ock's but nothing beats SPB for pure functionality.
