I try a software called We-Travel which is a free GPS guidance software (no need of data connection because maps are on the phone) and in its configuration (in GPS section) it asks me how to communicate with GPS. As choices : Bluetooth, No GPS, internal JSR-179, on COM port...

I'm not sure that OmniaLITE include JSR-179 for Java applications to access GPS (I see yes somewhere on a deutch website but nowhere else)

And for COM port, Windows says that for software, GPS works on COM7 and with a baud rate of 4800... So I configure We-Travel with "comm:COM7;baudrate=4800" as parameters. But I always have an error message in GPS trace which tells : "Not connected upon entry, opening url : comm:COM7;baudrate=9600" and "Exception trying to connect to com gps : null". Is anyone has already tried this software and succeed in configuring it or in configuring another and similar software Huh?

Thanks

Hi,

Java does not support COM Ports, you have to use GPS-Port from the TrekBuddy forum. It will forward the COM port so that We-Travel can find it.
The pre-installed Java does not support SD-Cards neither.

Hi, I have TomTom 7 perfect working on the B7300, a fix in couple of seconds. I first apllied following settings with TomTom, however the fix was sometimes fast and often very slow:
Settings B7300:
GPS Program Port: COM4
GPS hardware Port: COM9, Baudrate 9600
Manage GPS automatically: check.
Settings TomTom: internal GPS antenna

Much better is to install GpsGate 2.6. Alsways a perfect fix in some seconds. Settings:
B7300:
GPS Program port: COM2
GPS hardware port: COM9, baudrate 4800
Manage GPS automatically: Yes
GPSGate 2.6:
Run automatically. If this doesn’t work here are the settings for manually:
Input: COM2, baudrate 4800
Output: GpsGate Direct + Virtual COM4.
TomTom7:
Other NMEA GPS-receiver
GPS-baudsnelheid: 4800
Franson COM4

I had Garmin also perfect working together with GpsGate 2.6

Have a save ride!
