SO I decided to remove the CF 3.5 that was on my internal memory, went throught the same procedure to add CF 3.5 again, this time to my storage, but I get an error "installation error, stop all applications and processes, maximize available storage space, and run installation again. Support info: 2."
what gives?

Same thing's been happening to me. I tried EVERYTHING... Which means installing the CAB file from my Omnia (SGH-i900) and the 32 MB .exe file from this thread... I followed the directions. Even went so far as downloading from all possible sources I could think of just in case the CAB files I dloaded were damaged or corrupted and I seem to be getting the same error messages.

All over and over again. I am so frustrated.

Do not get fustrated so easily, since you have this phone, try out & come back here if you have problems. Some installed it once & works, but some need a few tries. You can read this whole thread to get a better understanding. Any cab installed can't work must be uninstall.

Try this if you have not:
1. Connect Omnia to PC using the data cable on Activesync.
2. Download file onto PC from link here >>>
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=e3821449-3c6b-42f1-9fd9-0041345b3385&displaylang=en
File name - NETCFSetupv35.msi
File size - 33.3mb
Select your download speed from drop-down box
3. Double click on the downloaded file
4. Follow instructions on your PC screen
5. Continue installation on your Omnia screen
6. Exit Activesync
7. Detach data cable from Omnia & PC

Use Omnia File Explorer to navigate to that file, you must know where you put that file. If not, post your question in the mac section.

I tried downloading the file from Microsoft but it didn't install to my phone, it installed to my desktop (probably since I have Visual Studio installed). Anyway I did get it working.

For anyone having trouble, try this:
1. Download the cab file from this thread to your desktop
2. Copy it from your desktop to your storage card (Active Sync -> Explore -> My Windows Mobile-Based Device -> Storage Card)
3. On your phone, go to Programs -> File Explorer and drill down until you are in your storage card.
4. Double tap the cab file.
5. Follow the on-screen prompts and make sure to install it to your device, not to your storage card.
6. Setup should say successful. No reset required.
7. Now try and run an app that requires CF 3.5 (like BeMario) - it should work.

With your browser on your i900, login HERE and download the NETCFv35.wm.armv4i.cab ( 2.58MB )?

It enables newer games etc to be used....

There is NO reason for you NOT to install it, it is backwards compatible.

Good luck!
