Here is a little tid bit more on it and the software is still growing as more members feed it their suggestions.

Microfi Nitrogen is a native Windows Mobile application (unmanaged code) that allows you to play MP3/OGG songs stored on your Pocket PC device. It features file browser, custom playlists, full skin support, 10-band equalizer with presets, "Shuffle" and "Repeat" modes, a built-in sleep mode and a command to blank screen to prevent energy waste while playing music. Nitrogen uses the MAD and OVD decoders, which are opensource. As the official releases of MAD for Pocket PC seem to be discontinued, Nitrogen uses the libraries from an opensource player (GSPlayer). Nitrogen was build due to the lack of finger-friendly players for Pocket PC (you have to use stylus even for simple tasks). It features large buttons and you can browse among your playlist by drawing circles on the screen (tapping in the appropriate space). In future releases the program will be expected to have other extensions support, but such things are still being tested to ensure stability and efficience.

Writing, designing and testing Nitrogen takes me time and efforts. So, if you use it and like it, please donate and support future versions development!

When i push the stand-by button in the program interface the screen goes off and i can't recover it, no matter what hard button i push i cannot recover the backlight. The music play ok in the background. Only whit a soft reset i have the screen light again.

Here is the latest.

MAR 02 - Nitrogen 0.3.3 is under development! The prototype already contains: adjustable kinetic scrolling, file association (MP3, OGG)!

This will be the best out once it is finished.

i like the file itnerface works great for how I set up my storage card... hate the fact that media player and touch player also includes my ring tomes in the playlists ... I have my main menu key o the side set for task switcher so its not a big deal to hit the menu button after I wake up the blank screen... great find

I tried this player and was dissatisfied. It was not able to show my covers. All my mp3's are tagged with my covers in the file. That was the only issue with me. All the other features worked well.

Still looking for the ultimate player for my Omnia. Does anyone know of a player that has a coverflow similar to the iphone or itunes? I'm not an apple fan but that coverflow is pretty cool. Also I'm looking for a player that lets you add or queue up songs in a now playing list, just like wmp10 on my pc?

egcivic,
I've had no problem getting album covers on Nitrogen.  It's similar to many other media players in that you have to put a folder.jpg into the Album Folder with the music files.  Folder.jpg should be a picture of the cover.  Some folks have this all automated with Media Monkey or some other cover grabbing idea, but I just did a wikipedia search of the album I want, right click on the album picture shown on the right, and select "Save Picture As."  Name this file folder.jpg and put it into the album folder.  I usually did this on my PC and then transferred the files, but however you'd like to do it is fine.  You might try searching "folder.jpg" in this forum and see if anything pops up.  Google is your friend, too.  Good luck.
