ok guys check it out:

http://www.omniahub.com/wmwifirouter-turn-smartphone-into-wireless-router/

WMWifiRouter

it turns your omnia into a wifi hotspot...

if you have Verizon... guess what?  it works... and there's no data limitation for the omnia, i called them already, so you dont have to worry about getting cut off at 5 gigs usage.

i just downloaded it from rapidshare and haven't installed it yet, but the reviews on the page above are eager to say it works and especially that it works with the i910 on verizon's service.

here's the rapidshare link:

http://rapidshare.com/files/184688718/wmwfrtr_125.rar

enjoy...

if it works i'm cancelling my 50 a month comcast net and using this from now on lol

there's a full tank of gas a month for free

You'll need to install Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) software as well to get it to work... see this thread: http://www.samsung-omnia.org/samsung-omnia-tricks-and-tips/free-wifi-tethering/

The only way I could get it to work was by entering "none" for encryption.  Also need to use version 1.20.

Well i got it fixed. It was only able to connect locally, but now, once i turned off the encryption everything works perfectly. If anyone has any possibly suggestions on why it wont allow it to be connected with WEP please let me know.
And if i can help anyone out there with problems or questions just shoot me a line

Well i feel like i am back to square 1.  i am having some serious issues. originally i was able to connect perfectly. it seems that with the omnia i910 you are only able to use it Without WEP.
but now i am only able to get local only!  it will connect with the computer (local), then it will show it is connected to the internet, but only for 1 min. after a min it will drop back down to local only. i have tried resetting to defaults on the program and re-set up the connection on my laptop, but still nothing.  ARRRGGG!!
well if anyone can help or has any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated. i am currently working on a verizon i910, i have installed ICS which is required to do this since verizon takes this driver out. and am working with a 64 bit architecture vista machine. I have gone thru all of the Knowledge base on their website AND the FAQ page, tried all i can, but to no avail.  ANY help would be GREATLY appreciated.
thanks in advance

ok, I'm not sure if this does what I think it does.. does it let you go on wifi, when you're not near a wifi hotspot? like a mobile router? and does it work in the Netherlands?

No.  It doesn't do that.  It allows your phone to act as a modem for your computer.  Your phone connects to your computer by wifi and to the web by 3G.

try using it just with the usb cord hooked up to your comp, and without the wifi.
